Rudy Giuliani, once celebrated for using the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) against New York mobsters in the 1980's and later mayor of New York City, has recently been charged under Georgia's RICO law. Giuliani, alongside Donald Trump and 17 other individuals, is accused of being part of a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The charges allege racketeering activity across several states, encompassing offenses such as forgery, filing false documents, and conspiracy to defraud the state. The decision to employ Rico against Giuliani, has drawn attention given Giuliani's history with the anti-racketeering law. The irony of this situation hasn't been lost on many, particularly in light of Giuliani's past bragging about combatting organized crime. This recent development is reminiscent of 50 Cent's lyrics from "Slow Doe" where he describes the use of mugshots by the police to track suspects. He hints at the privileged evading justice, but Giuliani's indictment suggests that sometimes, they too face accountability.
