I'm gonna buy one of these controllers.

The MPK looks great but I don't like the keys (which look like the ones on the cheaper M-Audio boards), I like using piano style keys.

Plus the Axiom is cheaper.

If the MPK has amazing features that the Axiom can't compare to then I would get that.

Somebody help me break it down.

they basically do the same thing, keys and pads, plus knobs and sliders. decide if the extra features of the mpk is worth the extra money to you. i'd spend the extra money on more keys and get an axiom 61 as opposed to the 49 of the mpk. the note repeat and tap tempo only work for certain stuff, so if you think your getting an mpc forget a bout it.

Thanks for the response.

I'm gonna go with the Axiom 49.

49 seems like a good compromise to me. It's big enough to actually play on yet small enough that you can move it easily.

The MPK is too damn expensive anyway.

I got the Axiom 49 and I love it. The only complaint I have about it is the pads feel sort of stiff and it is a b.... To program the knobs and faders to any DAW besides FL. But other than that its a very solid midi controller.

I have an Axiom49, so I may be a little biased, but uhhh, if you don't like the keys of the MPK, why would you even consider it?

The Axiom49 does everything I've tried to do, and it was a lot cheaper than the MPK. I am very pleased with the axiom, it's a quality piece of gear at a real affordable price.

basicly all you need are keys...the knobs and fader n **** are just to make it feel like a real workstation...you do not need knobs and faders...they just control whats on you cpu or mac screen...

what about if u wererecording and u wanted to automate the panning from left to right or u wanted to fade the volume of say the drums?

the knobs and faders arent a necessity but there useful

True..true...nut if you take the time and use the envelopes in fl studio or use edit events then you can make it do all of that...i dont know about other daws though...

**** it.

I'm gonna splurge and get the MPK.

Just Blaze said it was the best MIDI controller he's ever used.

Plus I've read that the MPK's keys are firmer and I like that.

Akai MPK FTW.
