Hey FP fam! Can anyone recommend the best sounding software instruments to make Rnb and Pop music.

Albino? Sampletank? Hypersonic? Vanguard? which ones are the best ones. Im leaning towards using all software instruments. Ive got a Korg Triton, fantom rack, and REASON for all my sound and instruments. want to start using software instruments/synths VST, AU.

Hypersonic (definitely)
I frequently use FM8

Is Hypersonic really that good? I know what it is and everything, but I haven't tried it out yet. My computer isnt good enough to support Hypersonic's virtual memory usgae.

Yes! It's like a habit for me to start a production with it. I have to make myself not use it on everything. I really like tweaking abilities within it. I highly recommend it

Does it really have good instruments? I hear A LOT of talk about it. I'm about to start using Vst's and Cubase instead of Reason(Need to expand my sound bank entirely). How is the cpu usage?

I have FM8, still have not tried it out yet. Reason stock sound banks are great sounding. I still want to try out all the VST instruments. Everyone please chime in on your favorite VST instruments for making Rnb and Pop music.

i dont produce rnb or pop but there are plenty of freeware vsts that will do the job, u just gotta know how to tune them. vsts such as

DSk Akoustik KeyZ
DSK strings
Synth1
Peach
Superwave P8
Thomas Noemaier Tn-303
STS-26
SFZ, SFPlay for loading soundfonts.

between them you should most of your sounds covered. also give vanguard and z3ta a look if u want to buy vsts

Man screw that I use Hypersonic on EVERYTHING!!! lol Its hard not to cuz its full of so many great sounds...check my sig the one that says lilpatthrowed and listen to down for me and the melody that comes in on the verses is Pro-53 so I would check that out too its not as many ways to make rnb wit the presets like it is wit hypersonic 2 but the synths are tight...and check out the song Give You A Ride I used Edirol Orchestral for the Orchestra sounds but the synths are hypersonic so it really depends on what sound you want but its always good to have a collection of Vstis...it took me about a year and a half to get all the plugins I have but now I have choices and Im not limited to one plugin which helps alot cuz each one have their own qualities and I use at least one sound from each plugin on every beat

all of the synths u named r great for anything. Each one is different and has its own unique feature that one of the others don't. Use em all!!!

The list below are just some of the VSTs that I use. Then again, you can use whatever you want. You can bang on pots and pans to get your drum sounds and make it sound like R&B. Not saying R&B sounds like that but it really depends on you, the producer.
VST LIST:
Korg Legacy Cell
Hypersonic
Sampletank 2 (2.5)
SonicSynth 2
Kore2
VirOne
EXS24 - memory hog.

thats it man, u dont NEED any synth, almost any will do the job.
be sure to get a wavetable and a subtractive synth

u cant just say that a plugin is made for a certain genre of music u can make r&b rock pop trance ect ect with any plugin if u know what u doin

99% of hypersonic sounds needs extremely work with compressors and racks.you can find more vst which have more sounds with less work

The synths used in today's pop music are so diverse that it's hard to say 'this synth is a killer for pop' or 'don't use this synth, it's not so good for r&b.'

Nexus, a rom synthesiser, is aimed at electronic dance music but can still be used for pop especially with some of it's expansions.

what racks? how is it any different than any other vst?

all the sounds that i take from hypersonic i spend a lot of time to make them productable.you know attack, release etc...dont use those settings from hypersonic.waves is better.nexus is one level up to the sounds quality from hypersonic i think.but there s no vst for a specific style of music.get your sounds from a gama of vst and make it to your own style

You gotta be kidding me, for trance maybe

CPU usage is not too bad for it... but Hyper's tight for the smaller punch in size it has... I'd use it quicker than I even touch my Eastwest Colossus or RA. Plus I like how you can link several instruments together to form one lush instrument. It's helped me to create some unique soundfonts I can reuse on my productions or sell to those that use soundfonts! Another good synth to look into is Gladiator from Tone.. very slept on synth but ranked (to me) up there with Nexus!

anything is good for creating any kind of music cos its all the same ****. find somthing that suites ur workflow and price range
