I know its not Acctually a limiter plugin (its a phattening/filter/multiFX plug - distortion/filter/lfo/compression ) but it has an amazing limiter algorithm on its output - trust me I've compared it to everything - (Ozone/T'racks/VintageWarmer/FabfilterProL/Waves L3 + many more) obviously camelphat 3 has no controls for its limiter but if u stick it on ur master channel in a neutral state (everything turned off (not the default ) ) then u can push like 15, 20 db into the ceiling of 0dbfs if u want and there is no flapping or distortion at all - at first I thought I was being lazy doing this - but after exhaustive comparing I've found it is by far the best ' not just ease of use practically ' but also the sound of it -- would love to here responces to this ' or other peoples experiences - nice one -

I feel certain that audio will distort when it goes above 0 dbfs. If it's not distorting, then there is likely a limiter preventing distortion. I can't image what you describe as sounding pleasant.

Also, how are you comparing the processing of each plugin? You need to compare at the same loudness to have a more objective judgement of what sounds best. How much does this plugin cost?

Like I said ' this plugin does have a limiter on its output ' but is designed just to stop the plugin from clipping and distorting ' not really designed as a mastering limiter at all . When I say 15 db past 0 I mean if I bypass the plugin then my mix will be in the red on the master channel and reading +15 and obviously sounding horrible ' but with the plugin turned on it is liMited/clipped at 0db and sounds nice. My comparissons were done by changing out camelphat to another limiter with ceiling set to 0db or -0.1db and seeing how well they each coped with the same mix . ie ' the same amount of gain reduction --- as far as price goes ' I've just discovered that Camel Audio has closed down . Plugin used to be 85 dollars - but ull have to find free one now ' anyway ' try it out its great ' its also good for filter automation and has a nice simple Exciter and a nice 1 knob compressor which when using mix control can setup nice parallel compression ' --- well worth having http://equipboard.com/items/camel-audio-camelphat-multi-effect-software-plugin
