I been djing for a while now but I'm new to serato..i went to a local club to ask wut I need so I can get a gig and the guy told me I needed a demo cd..so wut I wanna kno is if serato has capability of recording demos or anythin and then burnin to cd? if anyone has better knowledge ur ideas are appreciated..thanks

You can indeed record mixes in serato, however you can't burn your mix directly from serato its self. I don't know how it works on a PC but on a mac its like this:

To record your mix hit the red (record) circle that appears just above the playlist/crates box. Do your mix then when finished hit the circle again to stop recording. Click just along to the right of the same bar and name your mix then click the small disk icon on the bar to save the mix.

Now quit serato and open finder, type serato in the finder search box, and your mix should pop up as a AIFF file. Drop it in to itunes and your good to burn it off to a disk.

Im sure there are other ways to do it but this has always worked for me!

I was wondering the same thing. But do you have to use itunes? are other programs capable of burning that format (AIFF)? Also if using turntables it seems to just be sending the line signal (the hum sound) not the actual music. ANy ideas to fix this?

A quick search on google turned up a couple similar questions and the general consensus seemed to be using Audacity to record your mix. Then you can export it as a wav or mp3 if you'd like.

About the hum, make sure your cables are hooked up correctly, that includes the ground wire on your tables. You probably just have them backwards. The 'thru' outputs from the Serato box should go to your 'phono' inputs on your mixer.

i just record my seratos mixes in cubase, ul need a soundcard, just run the out ov ur mixer into ur sondcard and record throught cubase, i was told cubase and serato wouldnt work together but they do, its handy for recordin cuts on tracks too this way.
