im trying to load these sounds from this disk i have and it has .wav and .aiff fies, but the .aiff files dont show when i try to load the sounds, can the mpc pick these kinds of files up?

no only .wav for the 1000
oh and does anyone know if the 1000 can load .mid files??

yes!!!! you need a keyboard to play the midi notes via midi.

You can load .MID files - at least I can load back one that I saved (it can save as regular .MID as well as its proprietary .SEQ format)
A keyboard can trigger the internal MPC programs as wella s external equipment, but that's a separate feature/issue from the .MID compatibility question
