My cousin is giving me his m audio keyboard with 49 keys. I want to start learning how to play the piano and about music theory. Will 49 keys be enough? I mainly make hip hop and rnb songs.

49 keys will suffice, but only gives you a range of 4 octaves as oppose to the 5 you get with 61 or 6 with 73. i.e. you can play but you will not have highs or lows unless you use the octave switch - it makes it difficult to practice some aspects of technique that require multiple octaves to move through. It will suffice for playing chords, melodies and drum parts

As far as learning theory, it is more than enough. As for playing I reckon you it will be fine, especially if you're just starting out.

it should be enough to learn the basics on and a good level of music theory but for a beginner it's be more then enough to start learning

I think it's enough, the only thing is if you really want to learn to play piano, it will be great if your Midi keyboard has a piano touch...you will et more the feeling of a real piano.
