Just curious to see what fellow dj's do about records in their collection with cue burn. Do u toss them if their bad and replace - I found that the majority of records in my collection have like half a second of cue burn at the beginning of the track - would this make u replace the record?

i wouldnt replace it---people would never even hear that half second anyhow--so Why worry?

I hear u bro - its just hearing that second of static makes me want to cry. Would it be a fair statement to say though that most professional dj record collections consist of records with mild cue burn on them - especially the gems that they consistently play?

yea I am pretty sure that is the case---no worries though.
I actually am a fan of that record sound--like the little scratches and pops you get--makes it sound more "real" and raw too me....so

If it is a big deal to you you could pick up some low burn carts--I have the shure m-44g's for that reason as well as they sound good.

we got a whole thread about this in the scratching section, and i think u can get some stuff that actually fix's it (so the dudes in teh scratch section say). i'm gonna try it out some day. but when u juggle records, it's much worst then just the begining of the record haveing cue burn, it's more like half a bar to a full bar.
