Rumor only but theirs supposedly pictures of kia shine with a bmi plaque saying that he owns 25% of the song. someone google this **** cuz im bout to go get me some
 
I read somewhere that 25% was from one of kia shine's songs. A "you made it a hot line I made it a hot song" sort of thing. I have yet to hear this song tho, so...

There have been questions posed to me the last few days about the writing of Best I Ever Had and I figured I'd take the time to clear the air directly. I have never met Kia Shine or worked with him. I wrote the entire composition in Toronto and I borrowed one line from a Lil Wayne song that he produced the BEAT for. The claims of 25% ownership are false and for a artist to brag about splits on a song is distasteful to begin with.

Sorry, I'm just not the type to take the word of someone I never heard of until reading this thread over the word of someone who clearly has done a lot to get himself to where he is especially when it ruins that person's credibility in what they have done. And I wish more people would just do their own research for 3 seconds (literally took me less than 30 seconds to find his response) to at least hear the other side of the story.

Big Ups to Kia Shine. Dope record. Now that I think about it, I can actually hear him on it. Oh well, Drake is still the hottest thing since sliced bread to the younger age group.

people are stupid, best i ever had heavily samples "do it for your boy" by wayne.. kia produced that beat and wrote that hook for wayne, in which best i ever had samples, sooo that means kia would get a cut.. wayne took cash, and kia went smart and took a percentage, thus his bmi awards... people are retarded.. smh.
 
The dude that had the So Krispy song co-wrote Best I Ever Had? LOL right.....

Lets be fo real....Kia shines idea of a metaphor is "as white as snow". Dude has absolutely no depth or creativity in his lyrics

im not saying best I ever had was lyrical perfection but lets be serious. No way Kia shine wrote any of those verses at all.

If yall believe that then yall can pay me for insider information that I have that says Jim Jones wrote the verses in Hola Hovito

Somebody lying. Kia Shine says he owns 25% and Drake says he doesn't. For some reason, I believe Kia Shine on this one....unless he is just getting his info wrong. This would be stupid story to make up too...

kia is wording it to make it seem as if he wrote the DRAKE joint.... when in reality he wrote the WAYNE joint... and produced it...which drake samples... drake is denying kia wrote "best i ever had" which is truth, kia had NOTHING to do with best i ever had directly. other then he mad the original sample.. this is kinda like Eddie Kendricks calling out 50 saying Eddie wrote "god gave me style", feel me... kia is WORDING it, as if he wrote "BEST I EVER HAD" directly... when that inst the case... career boost in my opinion.. i hear reports that either kia owned the wayne joint and waye didnt, which explains why only kia won the bmi and is getting a cut, or drake hit weezy with cash straight up to for the sample, and kia didnt want to sell the rights so he kept enough to ensure 25%.. smart business move. but claiming, and wording it in a way where if you dotn listen hard enough, you wont catch it... it seems to people like kia wrote it, thats why he got the award.. which we all know isnt the case. just like eddie kendricks gets a royalty check from the 50 records....

Yeah he should have reworded it better ,but they said he did the beat for that wayne joint that drake seemed to "borrow" from and I think when someone produces a track for someone they call that person a "Co Writer" if im not mistaking........idk correct me if im wrong......
