I'm looking for soemthing that cna sorta do what an MPC can do but for MUCHHH cheaper. I just want something to sample drums into. I want to use it with reason or FL to synch the drum sounds. Doesnt need bells and whistle and it can be old, as I would look on EBay for it anyway. Any help appreciated.

asr10 you can sample kicks in it, it has a sequencer, way better filters and effects than the mpc, and it has keys so you can play melodies on it unlike the mpc..asr10 runs like $600 i think. check ebay

Did you look into a MPC 60? You might find a good deal on Ebay.

isnt that more expensive than the 2000xl and 3000?

if that is it then just get oxygen, a midi keyboard with all the bells n wistles any effects u wanna add use reason or downoad/buy cubase or cool edit because u can do so much with each program

no am MPC 60 is cheaper than the 2000 ,.....I wouldnt recomend it tho

PPl who buy the 60 usually have other sequencers around....Its obsolete.....aint worth the price unless u like/want vintage gear

(im all for vintage gear- but when it comes to a sampler/sequencer, ur better off staying w/ the current shiet- ill go more into that if sum1 asks)

remember way back maybe last year i saw mpc 60s which were more than the 2000's...whats wrong with the 60 sequencer whats the differences? isnt it the same as the 2000xl?

Regular MIDI keyboard works for me. I set up a drum kit in FL and bang away just like on any MPC pads......

FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

PS: My midi keyboard was extremely cheap, like $40 or something. Evolution MK-149 (the old model).

the mpc60 is pretty expenisve..i understand Primo and pete rock still use it though, but still.....i just rather have pads than the keys, but at the same time i dont want to pay a lot...it doenst need a lot of memory, i just want it for drums strictly...

The MPC 60's are classic pieces and they go for the price of a new mpc-2000xl...the drums hit a lot more grittier and crunchier than the new mpc's...Compare it to the SP-1200

If you already have a midi sequencer and you just need something for recording editing and programming your samples, don't buy a sampling drum machine, just get a rackmount.

Akai s900 series are cheap as hell and monkey proof to operate. They slip seamlessly into any home setup.

or a korg electribe S, you can find them new for less then 300 dollars
