Is there any real difference between these tables other than color? Is the performace the same? Seems to me like $40 is a lot to pay for a simple color change. I was also wondering, for those of you who have used either table, do the LCD displays help at all (aside from telling you what you should already know)? Thanx.

Gemini is a very low grade brand in turntables. If you want the highest quality, go with Technics. Even though they will cost you more!

well i'm almost 100% sure that there is no diff. other than cosmetic, the specification is exactly the same and they got identical features!

and for sqratch: have u ever >>ACTUALLY<< tried those new PTs (2100/2400/2410) cos' from what i heard they are damn good!
and the specification too, with 0.01% (thats like Technics baby!) and 2.2Kg-Cm Torque (thats about 45+% more than Technics with their 1.5Kg-Cm)
i'm not saying Gemini are better than Technics (god forbid!) but for home use (u know, learning and practicing) they can be better than Technics in some aspects (performance and money) cos' they are not in a club with some thousands of watts amp sys. or with some intense use...
if u got money for Technics, SURE! buy them!!!, but if u don't have money and ur gonna use the TTs just at home or small gigs be sure that the Geminis are just as good

Ok lets get something straight. Gemini makes both low and high end tts. Its called market stratergy. The new 2400's are supposed to be awesome ! Technics are not alone. Vestax are the other big boys in the circuit. The worst thing for a DJ to be is narrowminded. Keep and open mind and you will go a long way !

pt 2410

The pt 2400 $ the pt 2410 are identical as for specs. what make the pt 2410 different is the casing and the blue light not only are the strobe light blue, but the pop light as well, as is the lcd display, the 33 & 45 rpm indicator, the quartz lock light and the reverse light indicator. As far as perfomance go, they are very good.If would like to feel the kind of torque this turntable has pushes at you, then put it in reverse and try to sratch. Thus to let you know all you close minded indiviual know, I have a friend that been dj about as long as I been djing(17 years) He is straight up and down Technics man`s. I bought him to my house to try the pt2410 and he couldn`t believe that these were Gemini. His words "the pitch is ultra smooth and they feel really good and they look very nice"

Let keep it real don`t be close minded. With every new release company`s produce better and better turntable it just a matter of time before we have new king of the throne.Technics been making dj turntable for about a 1/4 of century, the new jacks like gemini, vestax, numark only started making a turntable to the challange technics about 5 years now so give it some time.Anyway look out for the new Sa 2400 and Sv 2200 models from gemini(straight arm jammies)

Gemini...

I bought a pair of PT2000's 1 month before they changed the name et al., and they are absolutely outstanding.
The only problem is that of the casing being plastic means you get a slight sound problem if you tap the casing while mixing (a sort of echo).
Other than this they are great - they've got high torque and NO wobble - my mates have got Vestax and Technics and they said I got better value for money than them (though i'd still prefer the Vestax).
Respec.
