found it for 150
what yalls think
why waste ur time saying get techs
i should get techs

i want to know if the pt-2400's r any good..not if techs are

$150 is cheap for that table!!! Yeah they're not bad...Pretty much considered a "Technics knock off" if you know what I mean. Very similar in design to the techs, wont last as long, but has decent torque.
 
hey i dont care ill have a party jus tto get rid of my xl-100's
(had em from the beginning....dont hate)

only prob is i can only afford one 2400 OH WELL

djing is so fukin expensive..i hate it

look to be honest its a piece of junk one of my friends had one and its horrible not much better then your xl 100. it had major issues holding a pitch and falls apart and the sound quality is shocking. save your money for your technics.
 
no thats ok...i dont think ill save 500 dollars or 400 or wasteva to get some turntable with SUPER TOURQUE that will last me 70 years...oh no!

ill tell u if they really suck as bad as xl-100's..but thats pretty much impossible
 
If you take it to say Europe where the voltage is 220 in the sockets you'll only need a plug converter (not a tansformer.)

It's 110 in the states with +5 allowence for small surges in power (220 v in Europe +10 for fluctuation.)

dude i sympathise with your position. i was once a 15 yr old with very little income who wanted to dj, i bought a pair of ****ty decks and hung onto them for yonks until i could afford technics. and im so glad i didnt waste money on toy *** wannabe dj decks like the 2400. i spent any spare cash i had on tunes and stashed the rest for 12's. its worth it. it may take ages but its worth it.
 
hey man don't diss gemini.. i have pt-2100's right now.. got them a year ago for 450$ USD (the pair)... they're probably a hell lot cheaper now.

Done a couple events here and ther and they're still pristine. I've played with 1200's before and these can definately hang with them. They haven't failed me yet and as long as they're working there's no reason to upgrade. And yes they are technic clones. Technic's patent was out and gemini swooped in a copied a lot of the components so yea.. gemini is A OK

for some reason i jus imagine a golden statue of a turntable in from of undercurrents trailor...but thats just me..and every morning he goes and bows down to it..and then comes here and discourages kids with 100 dollars to save up 900 more off a 20 dollar a month income and get tt's when they are 25 and then be out of collage and living with their parents having no life whatsoever but yet now i wud have technics..thanks for the advice but if you wud so kindly read the last sentence of the first post on this topic..u wud something...that said..i reeally do not give a fuk about those technics....thank you...

Are you that experienced to be able to dismiss the comments graciously offered by members of this forum?
As you do not seem to have much experience in djing it would be an intelligent choice to at least consider them.
Also, being 14 should not preclude you from trying your best not to offend people you want to help you. Cursing and describing situations as "gay" will only get you written off as an immature person with whom people just won't deal with (look for Mc Rob’s posts on this forum.) Do yourself a favor and vent your anger at being too lazy to get a job elsewhere. I went out and got my first job at 13 working at a pet store. Guess what? I didn't complain.

Patience is a virtue. I don't care how clichéd that sounds because it is true. If you cannot wait now, you are destined to fail. Lets say you wanted to learn how to write using proper grammar and you did not make progress quickly enough and decided to stopped trying - that decision made it a waste of time. Calling something impossible is what leads to failed aspirations.

You have to consider what it is exactly that you are trying to accomplish. The Technics may be too much for your purposes. They do have a distinct purpose and if you do not use them for it they do cost too much for you and any other turntable you are considering will be just fine.

you may have gotten a job at 13 though, but there is no where around that will hire me at my age
and previously i have asked questions about turntables only to get the "technics are the only thing" answer and i get frustrated
i dont need to know about technics..you have to understand this..i know enough about them..im not stupid
i want to know if Gemini 2400s would be OKAY turntables for someone to have..and im sure a delight after my xl-100s
okay patience yes, but you dont understand my situation..i cant but technics
if i ever save money my dad would make me save it for car..i would never be alllowed to "blow" 1000 dollars on some turntables..
maybe some of you have always gotten what you wanted and never experienced this
but when i found a nice turntable for 150$ i got all excited..wow..i want this..its prob. neat!....

only to come to FP and get my hopes shot down that I might be getting something nice..instead to hear im getting a P.O.S. and that i need to spend another (probably 4 years) with my xl-100's which are about shot to save up for some technics..
its just not possible

and you may not think at 14 i could know anything..or be experienced
but you may be quite surprised

dude read my posts earlier in the thread as to my experiences with them.

i was stuck with POS tables for 4 years. its worth waiting and saving. i remember wanting to dj when i was your age. you want to know what i did? i went and stacked shelves in a store to earn enough money to buy POS decks like your XL 100's. work a casual job for 6 months and save all the cash and you should be able to afford techs and a nice mixer. at your age you'd be better off investing in a record collection then ANOTHER pair of POS decks. gear isnt everything. records are.
 
seriously stop saying they are pos.. they aren't :(

most events will have decks ther. It's not like you have to travel with them. I'll admit the torque could be a bit better but you can learn quite well on pt-2100's (2400's are the same with a little lcd screen right?)

on the other hand. the resale value of my geminis have probably declined quite a bit compared to if i bought technics they probably would sell for the same price.

BUT i'm just reinforcing the fact that if you don't have money and ther is a good deal coming your way for some pt-2400's go for it. Of course check it out first, but you can have the satisfaction of knowing you bought some decent decks.

Today I stopped by my local Guitar center and they have 2 technics and a Vestax 07PRO samurai mixer hooked up and i played wit em
I LOVE THAT MIXER AND TURNTABLES
but most of all..i think everyone shud own a vestax 07pro samurai mixer..it has got to be the best thing on earth
it has this crazy feature where you turn it on and move the crossfader and it prac. crabs for you
the crossfader is the best thing ever

but thos turntables have got to be unskippable
I WAS 20X better
i had people in the store telling me to sign up for the Spin Off competition next tuesday (i dont think i will) and people were watching me givin me compliments..i felt like a pro :D
anyways..i wish i had 1600 $

today i realized its not really your skill...it is partly equipment
within 10 minutes i was doing better than i have ever done on my sh!t at home and it was so much fun..
especially with a niiicee digital crossfader..mmm..yuummy
 
for crap's sake!

if you wait 2 years or so to get techs, you will be lacking two years experience!

if you can buy them so cheap ($150) you will be able to sell them back at that price and put that towards your techs (even tho you sould get vestax pdx2k's) in a coupla years time or whatever

they ARE good decks, they arent the best, but us 14 year olds dont need THE best, we need a good deck with high torque, good features for a cheap price.

Get the turntables man, you WONT regret it

would you rather have $150 turntables and $650 of vinyl or $800 techs?

any way the 07 is con sidered cheating by a lot of the pros

yea..backk to the geminis..ill prob still get em because i cant afford technics..and yes funkmaster that is my point exactly..i just had to let everyone know about my wonderful experience with techs..haha
but how is that mixer cheating other than that crabbing feature..otherwise its just a very nice mixer that i wud die to own..so dont hate on the mixer
but yea..ill prob end up getting the geminis..but the place said they have 2 on backorder and dont know of anymore will be in..so i may be left with nothing again..

The PT-2400 is not comming back...I think thats why we were blowing it out for so cheap. However, there is a new Numark turntable that is way better quality and only $30 more. The turntable I'm referring to is called teh TT-1650. Its still a direct drive turntable, its got an S-shaped tonearm, it has 2 start/stop buttons so if you like your turntables battle style you dont have to reach all the way to the top to stop them. Overall they are great turntables and as I mentioned before, they are only $199.99. Let me know if you want to pick these up...they are deffinateley some turntables I would recommend

Listen, I will give you the truth about these turntables you speak of. The 2400 got a five star rating from IDJ magazine. Also, the wow and flutter is the lowest of virtually any table out right now (.01). The torque is extremely strong @ 2.2kgf. Plus the table weighs 33 pounds and is very strong. No, I do not own a pair of the pt-2400, but I do own a pair of the new SA2400. I consider myself to be a professional DJ and I have never had a problem with my tables. In fact, I enjoy using them more than any other table. Also despite what people think, the SA2400 do have a straight arm, that angled headshell is completely optional. I use ortofon nightclubs and they look like they are in a straight line to me. Go for the 2400 at that price, you wont be dissapointed at all, just because it is made by gemini doesnt mean anything. The table is just as good as a Stanton str8-100.
