do you name it or just give it to the rapper like this is beat nr. 4 and the rappers records the vocals and picks the title ?

I usually name my hand made beats based on how they sound (what emotion I get from them) or if its a sample beat, I'll name it based on what is said in the hook, but not always. For instance one of my beats is called Carl. The rapper will usually change the name based on the hook he or she comes up with.

I put the acronym for my company name and then 00001, 00002 ect.ect., its all inventory to me. I come up with actual names once I know who will use the track and what concept/hook I want to apply to it. Even then its still 00001, 00002 to me.

This might not be the best way to go. If you're selling beats on soundclick for example, you need to give your beats catchy names.

I usually name my beat after a song/artist/genre that my song was influenced by.

Good Topic by the OP! I usually name them based on how the track sounds like or what I'm trying to accomplish. After I get close to the final edit/mix I try come up with a catchy name. I learned my lesson about posting songs with generic titles.

I name them based on the project they for along with suffix (number)

If i'm just making tracks i name them based on how they sound

don't get hung up on creating names for tracks because they will change anyway

The feel of the beat.. Like i'll name a beat chill r.a.w or after a rapper i could c on it.. Wayne jim jones fred da god.. Whatever comes to mind... You know.

I come up with a clever name that also matches the sound of the beat. Like if it's a dance track I might call it House Of Bounce. A slow R&B rap song, Drakish Danish. A Trance type hip-hop song, Futuristic Lil Wayne. Ect. Just remember that corny clever names make it easier to find a beat your looking for and search for certain tracks to submit to artist. Clever names also get played more. I had the #1 Hip-Hop general beat on soundclick one time because the name was "B*tch You don't Know". The beat was cool but not a #1. I had other beats up that were way better but had worse names.

A good name for a beat will also help with the subject matter for the lyrics, so that they match the vibe of the track and stay on target. I hate off topic lyrics. That's why 90% of the rappers you hear have wack ass songs that only they think are tight. They are thinking about how cool the lyrics are and not if they relate to the subject, hook, or vibe.
