I've only been making beats maybe 2 months at the most. I'm curious to what other producers opinion on how much my beats should be priced at. I have them set pretty cheap from 25-50 which i know is real cheap. Just curious do you think i should up the price and if so to how much. I would prefer to hear from producers who have had success in this business rather than someone in my position who doesn't have much knowledge in the beat/producing game. Thanks.

Here's where my beats are at >>>>> jaemobeats.blogspot.com

I don't think you should be sellin em for .99 cents. Lol you can charge however much your little heart desires. I been sellin beats for uh few months now. I even sold some years ago. Kinda like how I started producing around 7-9 years ago, but if you asked how long I been producin I wouldn't say that. Lol real sh!t though this is uh question only YOU can answer.

Yeah no doubt, your right. I still wanted some opinions though on this topic but yes your absolutely right. The ultimate decision to what price they are priced at will be whatever I decide. Thanks for the reply

Why the hurry selling beats? No offence but I wouldn't buy any of your beats.

Don't understand why everyone are selling beats everywhere when they have been producing for like 3 months max... chill out. Practice and get your beats out there, then you might consider selling beats... Thats atleast my 2½centsss

I agree with villian if you have been making beats for 2 months, there nothing special. Did you get into making music for the money? You have to have a passion about it and literally be obsessively in love with it, and if your thinking about money this early in the game you dont got it.

appreciate your opinion bro. Thats why I posted this. Everyone has different opinions on the subject. Most people say 150 min. Some say more. Another producer told me 100-200 and that I had some real good beats. And theres no hurry in selling beats just wanted some opinions.

Idk why any producer would purchase tracks off another producer. It's funny Af how many beatmakers hit me on the daily tryna sell me their beats. Lmao

doesn't matter how long you been making instrumentals...because alot of ppl making beats know how to play the piano and how to craft a instrumental
I didn't listen to your instrumentals
now most ppl are selling LEASE instrumentals for $19.95 or straight $20.00
and
exclusive instrumentals most charge $199.95 or straight $200.00

you prices are okay to start off with

now putting up site and all is fine but what are you going to do beyond that
you don't need ask for opinions on what price point to set your music
what you do need to do is study the market looking for the average on what producers setting their prices
1.market research
2.promotion/marketing
3.customer service
4.networking
work on these and sales will follow

well you'll need that passion to continue to make music
but I'm about business and the thought that you have to run a professional production company to succeed
I would buy a domain name and purchase a logo before starting to promote and trying to make sales though
make yourself a foundation before you start to build your little empire
for logo I designed mines with this in demo version and had a designer who uses the same software refined my design at Fiverr - Hire people to do things for $5

I offer services for producers in the start-up stages of their production company
I'm not trying to be a salesman here as I will tell you,you can DIY and learn everything yourself.
contact me if you're interested
blessings in your adventure

prices are over the board now ..but when I went through and made up averages that is what came of the research
with online sales
online instrumentals are only going to be 10% of my revenue so I'm not to concerned with prices.

All depends on how well I know the artist, how much faith I have in the artist that they're going to push my music out there AND to make sure they're not wack... the worst thing is to have a shitty rapper ruining your track.

Also depends on if they want the beat tagged, or untagged... there's a lot of variables when it comes to pricing.

On a sidenote, I wouldn't buy your beats with someone elses money... not 2 months into it... you're crazy. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but this profession doesn't give a shit about you... you're just another no face producer who can make the next hit if you're lucky, all they want is the money... they're not going to baby you... they're gonna tell you how it is bro.

On another sidenote, I just listened to your beats and they're really not good enough to be charging. I mean you have potential there for only being 2 months in... you at least have some basic composition there which is good... but the track's overall just don't sound good

You gotta look at it like this... why would I spend any amount of money for a shitty beat, when I can go to SuperStarO.com, one of the best producers doing it, and grab 40 free downloads? Know what I'm sayin bro?

Your a idiot, ive listened to you beats and they sound terrible why would anyone spend $199 on one of your beats when they can literally make that same beat in a couple hours. That goes a with 2 month experience, making beats takes years of experience and experimenting and gaining equipment. Being able to focus on a craft that long takes passion, you get what im saying yet? Im so tired of all these 2 month producers expecting people to give them money cause they saved up enough money for a daw and a keyboard. Take the time to perfect your music, than worry about the lavish hip hop lifestyle youll be living as a producer bro...

"Being passionate and all that other crap" was actually good advise given. Not listening to it will probably result in your beats sucking mucho ass.

You have let your music sell itself my friend. I mean you can always put a price on your beats but you can run the risk of selling yourself short you know.If you sale a beat to me for $100 would you turn and flip one to Jigga for the same? Each artist you encounter is different and you should adjust approach accordingly. Now I would have a set amount you will not take less than in any case. Me I want $100 for ANYTHING at least and I'll get it. You gotta be firm and take this serious or else it will show in your sales approach.

I'd say grow your hype first. Get out there. Start talking to people around your area not just the internet. Help others record music, so if a local rapper wants to get quality recording, you will be able to price it at something and be able to say that you worked with them. You might never know. Honestly all it really takes for someone completely oblivious to what goes around here to recognize you is if they hear it off of someone they like. Find your group of guys to work with. Make beat compilations mix tapes for people to mess with then have them contact you back with the songs they recorded. Then not only do you have people who you can refer your work to, but a showcase for your work. I honestly think this is more important than getting a price on your beats, atleast when you first start. If your spending money on soundclick premium accounts and website hosting, it doesn't matter if you don't have a following. Its a lost cause, and a waste a money. My advice in a nut shell: connections.

OPs blog isn't active? people ragging on his beats lol
