this mixer is mainly for mixing...it has some good features and very pretty. the sound is pretty good but i heard something about a popping noise on the kills...not happened to me yet though. it can get very hectic cleaning it...

run a search on it because many people asked the same thing you did. :)

what type of stuff u going to use it to mix???

i have used it for drum and bass for a while an dits ****ing choice mate!! :)

it is also recommended for tech stuff, but yeha you can use it for anything, nice faders, and scratching on it is fine mate, plus nice big eqs :)

Do you have any trouble with the eq knobs being to close together?

well i heard that some people do..but i have small fingers and they never seem to cause a problem.

I have that mixer and I liike it a lot. I use it for mixing house and trance, the other thing I like about it is the efx send and return if you have an effects unit. Other people tell me rane is the way to go but i dont have the money for that mixer. The difference between the 170a and the 17 is the 17 doesnt have the kill switches and the 170a does, at least thats what i was told.

yeah...the pmc -17 does not have kill switches and does not have a strong equalizer as the pmc170a. the 170a has -24/+6db and i understand that the pmc17 was less than that...basically overall improvement in every department..

as for the RM-3 i am not sure if it matches up to the pmc-170a but i would go for vestax because the sound quality is a little better than the rm-3.
