what up fp'ers???? Check it , i just received my interface today, its a Mackie Satellite and Im using it with Adobe Audition. It took me a while just to set it up so i can hear my voice thru the headphones. I guess u have to use the direct monitoring in ur DAW which i didnt have to do with my old Mobilepre...anyways.....so far Im only receiving audio to the left headphone. with my Mobilepre it had a Mobilepre mixer that u had to switch to mono but with the Mackie i cant seem to figure it out!!! So somebody please help me with this shyt!! Any help on setting this thing up would help.. THANKS N PEACE!!

First, go to mackie site and get the firmware update. On the satellite, set the source switch to daw, then in audition, set up a MONO track and arm it, that should allow u to hear ur voice in both left and right channels. U have the option of direct monitoring on the mackie by using the source switch (daw/inputs). When set to inputs (direct monitor), ur only going to hear whats comin into the inputs, so if u only have 1 mic, ur only going to hear the mic in it's respective channel. If u had a cd player hooked up to inputs 1+2 u'd hear the music in both of thier respective channels. The firmware update allows u to have the sourse set to daw, and hear whats coming from ur daw, as well as the inputs, as long as they are set to be monitored in the software ie; armed tracks. I forget exactly where i got all this info, but its got to be on the website and/or in the documentation cause i didn't look anywhere else. So comb the site to ensure i've givin u accurate info. Hope this helps.

If ur monitoring thru ur sequencing software, thats not direct monitoring, because it's going thru the sequencer, which is not a "direct" path in and out of ur hardware.
the mobilepre has a monitor mix switch which allows u to mix the signal of the inputs with the signal comin from the software so no matter if tracks were armed (or set up to be monitored) or not, the mics are basically always "hot".
the satellite doesn't have a control panel like the mobilepre, just a sample rate/buffer selector, which allows for tighter integration with ur sequencing software since you do everything in there ie; mono monitoring, routing and such. The satellite feels more like a hardware peice then a software driven peice of hardware. Turnin it on (without opening any software, or usuing a computer for that matter) and settin the source to inputs allows for tru direct monitoring, i like it better then the mobilepre, even tho it lacks midi and digital i/o. I built my homegirl's vocal recording set up around the mobilepre, so i'm very familiar with it too.

thanks yo...so u help me understand this thing a bit more but i still can only hear it through the left headphone. wether i monitor through my DAW or input its still the same. I mean i arm the track in mono in Audition but i still get just the left... u think it could be the adapter im using with my headphones?? i have a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter connected to the pod..and im pretty sure its the correct one

anybody else?????
