Jus being going thru tha Hell on Earth and Infamous.. Jus wondering do they compose all that and amke it sound form viynl or do they stright up sample from ****? If so anyone knwo what they go digging for? Opra ****?

Mobb Deep sample a lot, but not everything they do is sampled loops.

As far as what they dig for, just listen to their music. Alchemist does beats for them too, and he samples heavily. Check their CD's, and look for sample clearance credits. You get a lot of info there.

The web site. Its like dry snitchin'.

Yeah Ike, it's a poor site. It needs updating and the look of it is depressing. It's useful just in case you need to find something quick, but I imagine there are better alternatives.

THe producer for mobb depe was one cocky fuker, he didnt leave credits on any of the tracks..Thnx fo that page btw, have abetter idea now, thnx :)

Mobb Deep (Havoc) samples a lot, & Alchemist doesn't do a beat without one IMO

Younghove, "The-Breaks" is garbage. About the only good thing in it is that they cover a lot of music from when the art of sampling hit it's peak in popular music. But the info's all wrong.

The actual sample-spotting is BAD. A lot of it is wrong, the industry could never lead any anti-sampling action off of it, and it does mislead people who think they can dip into it for half an hour and become masters of records. The-breaks go off a basic idea of what original arrangements and sound recordings sound like. Like if someone sampled The Carnaby Street Jump's version of "Funky Drummer", the-breaks puts it in as them sampling the James Brown sound recording.........It's problems like that that make it impossible to run a definitive site like this.

Sample clearance credits on CDs are almost ALWAYS wrong. Even the admin on the site admit to errors they've seen on liner notes, so that course also doens't work in spotting stuff.

The album citation's slightly annoying the way they did it, too.

A lot of artists used to draw samples from groups and songs that were 45 only. The purpose of linking everything back by album is annoying and superficial.

you dont have to credit the sample unless the artist(who your sampling from) wants it.
