Man, last night on MTV, I saw a documentary on R&B singer, Mario & his mom which was filmed back in the summer. I couldn't believe what Mario had done. Some of you may or may not know that Mario's mother has an addicition to heroin and during the filming of the documentary, Mario was so disgusted with his mom's drug addiction that he got her some help. He admitted her into some drug rehad program. However, the drug rehab rep told Mario's mother to get whatever she need before the start of her rehab which included getting her last fix. Man, I couldn't believe Mario gave his mom $50 dollars to go buy some heroin on camera right before her drug rehab program. His mother was filmed going to drug dealer; however, drug dealer's face wasn't shown. The camera showed mario's mother getting ready to shoot up in the rest room until mario's mom closed the door. Man, I couldn't do that. I couldn't give my mom $50 to do some heroin. I couldn't do that on camera. What's up with dude? After giving her the money, Mario just shrugged his shoulders and saying I guess it's alright and sounded like Mario was mumbling something like she's does it every other day anyway. I know TV ratings and money are important to networks such as MTV; however, I think Mario's situation is a family matter and shouldn't have filmed. Do you guys think somebody might get prosecuted?

He gave her money to get her last fix, which is apparently part of the process. Dont tell me this is the first time MTV has shown like this.

yea have u ever seen that True-Life series...

it gets pretty detailed.. im not suprised they showed something like that at all

yeah, on true life they show people smokin meth, shootin up heroin and everything.

i see what u mean about payin for ya moms drugs...which is messed up, but its what u gotta do cuz on that plane goin to rehab ur already freakin out cuz u dont kno what to do. on top of that ur startin to shake and puke cuz u havent had ur fix. it just made it alot easier. i watched it last night i thought it was a good watch. seeing stars like mario having to struggle with things went on in his neighborhood and is still dealing with it via his moms addiction

I watched it, pretty good doc. Better than all this other "reality" nonsense they show on TV. Mario's mother is very stubborn, I hope she stays clean for both their sake. I couldn't watch the part when she was gonna use tho... that shlt disgusts me. That would def be a weird ass feeling giving your mother money to buy drugs.

But guys I think although it may be part of the process of getting help with the drug addiction, I think mario's mom has the wrong mindset if she plans to get help for her drug addiction. She shouldn't be thinking about drugs if she's serious about getting help for drug addiction. Mario could have given his mother money for her last breath. I don't think he would want that on his mind. Mario's mother is probably not gonna get cured. She's gonna get worse.

heroin is a different beast compared to other drugs out there, not a drug that many can get off cold turke...if im not mistaken you have to be weened off it and the process doint it can even be deadly.

I don't think you can die from heroin withdrawal, as far as I know the only drug that you can die from on withdrawal is alcohol. Mario's mom taking that last hit wasn't necessarily bad. going to rehab is a huge step if you're addicted to heroin;taking the last hit would ease the process as she was going through withdrawal. when the heroin from that hit wears off, she'll be in rehab, which is much better than being somewhere she can buy drugs. Still, I couldn't imagine giving my mom money to go buy herself some smack.

With regular heroin use, tolerance develops. This means the abuser must use more heroin to achieve the same intensity of effect. As higher doses are used over time, physical dependence and addiction develop. With physical dependence, the body has adapted to the presence of the drug and withdrawal symptoms may occur if use is reduced or stopped.

Withdrawal, which in regular abusers may occur as early as a few hours after the last administration, produces drug craving, restlessness, muscle and bone pain, insomnia, diarrhea and vomiting, cold flashes with goose bumps ("cold turkey"), kicking movements ("kicking the habit"), and other symptoms. Major withdrawal symptoms peak between 48 and 72 hours after the last dose and subside after about a week. Sudden withdrawal by heavily dependent users who are in poor health is occasionally fatal, although heroin withdrawal is considered less dangerous than alcohol or barbiturate withdrawal.

*puts emo cap on" who cares? She is messed up and people need to see what messed up people go trough so they can avoid that type of life. *takes emo cap off*

oh yea ,but it's cool to be a thug and be responsible for many lives, which we hear in music everyday and alot of us are supplying beats to people like that drug dealer every day.but hey...

have you not seen the "True Life: I'm a Meth Addict" one? it's 100% buying/smoking meth

The sellers are just as responsible for messing up our environment and residents. People are ignorant with the "if I don't sell it, then some one else will" mentality. We are one world and what affects one affects another. Let's get the poison off the streets. I have children and pray every day to God to give them the insight not to go that route. Along with educating them.
