I've been into hotmixing, remixing and producing for about 8 years. In 95 I invested about $8,000 into a DAW by the name of SPECTRAL with PRISMA BOARD sound card with DSP, STUDIO TRACKS XP software and external A/D converters as well as external dedicated SCSI drives. For anyone who is not familiar with SPECTRAL- it is the PROTOOLS for PC platform. The problem is that the manufacturer- Euphonics was bought by US Robotics and stopped developing the software. The card itself was a $4,000 piece and it has a very professional interface and sophisticated features. Although everything still works perfectly (it was developed for WIN 95), I decided to get a sound card that I could use with present recording/editing software (VEGAS, COOLEDIT, etc.) I'm just starting to research my options since I wasn't following teh market for about six years. I was looking at CREAMWARE's PULSAR, but it has too many fetures I would't use. I've read some good reviews about DIGITAL AUDIO LABS CARD DELUXE and was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. Perhaps someone has any other suggestions. I'm open to any ideas. My machine is a PENTIUM 3 800 with 3 IBM ULTRASTAR 36GB SCSI DRIVES and over 1 GB of RAM. On the outside, I'm using a MACKIE 1402VLZ, EVENT 20/20's, Panasonic SV-3800 and other various equipment. Any feedback or help (hopefully from other DJ's) is greatly appreciated
