Im new to all this and still deciding on my first mixer.

Could someone please explain to me what PFL is exactally and cue mixing etc as i see some mixers descriptions have these kinda things eg. Stanton RM 3, Behringer DX500.

But what do they all mean. Does it just mean that you can listen to the other channel before you bring it in?

On the picture of the new Numark DM3002x it shows a split/blend button for the head phones, is this the same thing again?

Im REALLY confused over this!!!! as i expect you can guess!!

Thanks

pfl means pre-fader listening, i think. all mixers have this. al it means is that you can listen to a channel before fading it in. the difference between various mixers is that some have cue mixing, others have split cue, some have neither. cue mixing means you can fade between a designated channel (pfl) and the master output, ie. pioneer djm600. split cue means it puts the pfl in one ear and the master in the other, ie. vestax 270a. other mixers will have neither and you can only desinate between channels (pfl), master, or both with no fading or split, ie. pioneer djm500.

i'm guessing the 30002x allows you to swith between cue mixing and spliting
