Pioneer Djm-300:any Good?

It's compact, well built, has good sound and looks, is tough as nails and nice to work w/, has cool features as to monitoring and EQ, perfect layout and organisation, it has BPM counts (I could live w/out tho...), and is Pioneer - I personally like Pio a lot (I have a DJM600).

On the flip side you could buy other nicer mixers like the Roland DJ1000 for the same cash (I think...), it has DSP effects, excelent sound and good built too. Other mixers from Red Sound, Ecler and Vestax in the same range should also b considered IMO. But the 300 is cool for me...

the DJM-300 was my first mixer, excellent mixer, but as Alex said, for about the same price u can get Roland DJ-1000, which is better IMO
 
i got given one a few weeks ago. i have to say its a good solid mixer like everythuing else pioneer puts out. there is nothing outstanding about it. it is well designed, intuitive, well built, has good sound quality and a good rangeof features. the only thing that i would change would be ditch the bpm counters in favour of a send/return and headphone cue fader. other then that its a dream. and its got that familiar pioneer feel for people who have used the 500/600 or are likely to in the future.

Headphone cue fader is a pot or a fader that allows you to actually mix in the phones, listening to the master (playing channel) and the cue channel at the same time, controling the mix. It's usefull 'cos it's quite common to find less-than-optimal monitoring conditions.
 
I'm confused..I asked about this on the Pioneer forum and they said u can listen to both channels at the same time in the same ear...
 
yes but headphone cue fader allows u to control the ratio between the two... it's like a crossfader (and as alex said, it can be a knob or a fader) for the headpones selection

You hear both channels equally loud (full volume) in the phones.
 
:D The ratio is, when the knob is 100% in the Master position, you listen to the playing sound (if you only have, say, channel 1 playing, then you'll hear channel 1 on the Master, of course...), if you turn it 100% to the Cue position, you'll hear the cued channel (in the DJM300's case it means channel 2 'cos it only has 2 channels). And in between you have all other ratios, like 60cue+40master, 70cue+30master, etc... depending on where you turn the knob to... got it?
 
I understand what you're saying..but the 300 hasn't got a fader,so surely you can't have 60-40,etc.
 
IMO the 300 has much better Pre-amps, EQ and faders than either the Roland or Vestax. The sound is better and both the EQ and faders are smoother.....when I use the 600 I never use the cue fader, only the cue and then if there is delay in the sound system o I use cue and master.....send/return would be nice though if you have an effects proccesor
 
djm 300 is nice, i got given one for free for my 2nd setup so im not complaining. i was going to buy a pmc270 for my 2nd setup though, but thats my needs and probably not yours.
