Hey Mr. King, me again! :) If u get the CDJ100, there's no need for the EFX as it already has 3 of the coolest and most usefull fx found on the EFX500. Of course they're not as dedicated or as complete, yet they're enough.

I'm working on a full test of the EFX500 for this site, if I can finish it sooner than the next century (it's almost finished...:) ), I'll post it here and u'll be able to check on the features and capabilities of the rig.

The 700 is more pro and has loop, which is THE thing if u wanna play cds, biggest advantage of cds over analogue TT's. A EFX to complement this package would make more sense IMO.

Then EFX-500 is an awesome unit I personally have sold at least 250 of these in NYC in the last 10 months. The CDJ-100's do have 3 cool effects but nothing can come close to the effects that the 500 has.
The is the Alesis Air-FX which is an ok unit also but it doesn't come close to the Pioneer.

I have had the efx 500 for about 2 months now and I think it's a great unit. It really let's you add a little something extra to what might be a basic track. The quality of the effects are very good and once you get used to the nuances of the unit it becomes very very fun to play with. The only thing I can't stand about the unit is the "ring" effect. It's totally annoying.

It's one of the built-in effects that the efx 500 comes with. Maybe I'm just partial to not liking that particular effect all that much because I have a friend who spins on my decks and insists on using that "ring" effect on every track. Very annoying indeed.

couldnt u just not use that particular effect then, if its not that great? heheh,,,,wen i get the box i will listen to the ring effect and tell wat i think:D

i like it cause its really easy to use and it has all the essential dj effects. It's also one of the few dj effect units on the market with all the essential features like bpm, wet/dry knob, 3 band eq&isolator and proper level meters. oh yeah the fuzz effect is bad ***!

EFX

Greetings!

I just joined the other day and this forum helped me a lot especially now that i've read about your reviews on the efx. I was supposed to get one today but i got to the store at closing time (bummer!) well, i tried it out and it's pretty cool. i only spent around 15 mins checking it out and i know it'll be a good buy. i'll get one tom though.

will adding a Kaoss pad to the EFX just duplicate things a bit or are they different in usage?

TNX
