Hey all

I am thinking of attending the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, OH to get my recording career started but Im looking for some outside advice before I make my decision.

Has anyone gone to this school? If so, can you explain your experiences and how it has helped you?

If you have not gone this school but you know about it, can you tell me anything that may be usual for me. Do you think it is a good school to attened for someone who is looking for a start to a recording career?

Any input that anyone has will be most helpful, thank you!!

...if you want to check out the school for yourself, goto http://www.recordingworkshop.com

already was accepted to Full Sail but then read many reviews on the school and found that it wasn't worth the amount of money it was going to cost me....if you would like to see some info for yourself, view http://www.fullsailsucks.com...i cant afford to spend that much money on such a risk.

Full Sail

I am a current student at Full Sail and knew ALL the risks I was taking before I went, but it was the best option for the plan I have set for myself. There is a BOATLOAD (and I dare say MAJORITY) of current students and prospective students who only view Full Sail as there "easy way" in to the industry, and they really have no interest in becoming audio engineers. They come to Full Sail thinking they will be the next Timbaland or Lead Guitarist for a multiplatinum rock band. Those are the people who Fail when they graduate because they are not willing to bust there arse in a studio, then they go post on FullSailsucks.com about if you go to full sail, you won't get a job. Completely false. George Lucas's ILM and Skywalker Ranch hire almost Exclusively from Full Sail. The Atlanta Music scene (as far as audio engineering) is controlled by Full Sail Grads. All I got to say is do your research before you make a decision. There are a lot of other really good schools out there. I will agree that Full Sail is overpriced (you know people still don't go to class even after paying 32k in tuition!).

Everyone in the industry i talk to says schools are crap. You need to get a real experiance in the industry. An internship is the best way to go. Find somewhere you can do that. Lucky for me i live in LA and have found some rad internships. see what you can do where you live and go from there i posted this befor but you can network and meet lots of people you would never ever meet if you didnt get an intership. even though schools make you get an internship you might as well bypass the school and go right for the internship. word thats the way to do it.

There is also Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences in Tempe, AZ not sure on the cost....But they just dont accept anyone...they basicly have an interview process to go thru...
