Spectrasonics Omnisphere vs. East West Quantum Leap Goliath
both have been and are getting great reviews...
both in the same pirce range.. really..reallly close actually

is it worth it to get both of them???

let's say money is not a issue and my PC is out right amazing fast and with great storage... using Cubase as the main DAW

and if no to not getting both
which one do you reccomend and why...
I heard the sounds on both are amazing..
I know ppl use to buy alot of sound modules when hardware was the only thing around... and I'm sure they had some similar sounds....lol

It really depends on what sound you're looking for.
Omnisphere is known for that "trippy" or spacy stuff with GREAT and very deep tweaking options.

Goliath probably got way more "real" instrument patches but once you're done with reverb, delay, filter, envelope, ADT and stereo double, there is no further tweaking. HOWEVER all those tweaking features i mentioned are all top notch quality. You won't find many vst plugins with such great reverb, delay, ADT and stereo double options.

Both omnisphere and goliath have great sounding sample patches, i believe goliath has more "authentic" sounds..but once you're done with the library (which will take you forever) there is no further sound "morphing" or tweaking you can do expect for the features i've mentioned. Except for "stacking" sounds of course.

The "spacy" sounds of omnisphere probably outweigh the authentic and real sounding ones. Depends on what direction your music goes but there might be quite a lot of patches which won't suit your hip hop style very well. Assuming you're gonna use it for Hip Hop.
Cuz omni really got a lot of those "out of space" trippy sounding shit.
But like i said...omnisphere has great tweaking abilities which go way beyond your normal set of tweaking options in a "sample-based" vst plugin.

If you're just comparing goliath itself (!) to omnisphere..omni would probably win because of the tweaking abilities.
I'm saying "itself" cuz ppl usually buy the complete composers collection and get goliath together with all the other quality eastwest products.

Now comparing the hole eastwest bundle with omnisphere is a whole other story...

http://www.soundsonline.com/home.php

The guys from EastWest still got a 50% discount going on for the hole complete composers collection. You can fully customize your bundle and choose 7 products YOURSELF.

Just click on "complete composers collection - play edition - customize"

It's the first product listed in the link.

If money is not a problem right now, this is definitely worth a watch.
You're a little bit late though, they had a 70% discount going one a month ago lol.

Soundsonline always got them crazy discounts. Don't sleep on this.

Man listen, I got both, I have RMX Stylus, Atmospher and Omnisphere, and I have Symphonic Choirs, Goliath, And Storm drum. I also bought, the Composers Collection from EW, it was $895 I was not passing that up. I got Ministries of Rock, RA, Voices of Passion, Silk, Pianos Gold, Gypsy, and Symphonic Orchestra Gold.

It's like this, they are both dam hot to def and they have total different functions and variations. Both have incredible sound quality. I use my Omnisphere for special type of sounds that's not heard by man, and straight up playing with EW. Put it this way I don't ever have to worry i got my a-(____o____)<---ss covered with sounds and deliverance! I love them both. What ever music you do whether it's country to Urban RnB and HipHop you are covered!

I got Goliath for free when I bought Symphonic choirs, that was bananas! they are two different joints like homie said, depends on where you are going. I need them both because I don't do just hiphop, I do that, RnB, Pop, Dance Hall, Urban/Euro music, Ambient music, New Age Music, Score type of music etc. So my library has to be ridiculous!

omnisphere and goliath are two different products, omnisphere is a synth and goliath is a rompler...

i own both and if i am looking for a synth sound i would choose omnisphere if i was looking for a organ, trumpet, piano, drums then i look at goliath...

they are two different instruments.
