What I mean by that is do people put that at the end of their label or group names just because they like the way it sounds? Or does it actually have meaning?

I guess it depends if its a legit label/company or just a name that you and yours go by?

If you aint legit then its whatever, whatever looks the best or sounds the best.

& on a legit label, i think its something that had meaning in the past, but now the meaning has passed away and it doesn't really matter whats its called.

like Shady records
& aftermath entertainment

are both label imprints but are they different cuz of the 2nd word in em? probably not.

Inc. means "incorporated", and has a specifc legal meaning. You cannot legally claim to be incorporated unless you have a legally-formed corporation. Putting "inc." after your name leaves you open to all sorts of legal problems if you are not an actual corporation.

yeaa.. lots of paper work

but they give u a fly binder, with a cool seal, and its got a whole bunch of certificates ;)

3XA Productions Inc.
WOOOOOOOOOO

but Murder Inc RECORDS or ENTERTAINMENT
wouldnt be a real corporation would it ?

well since Murder Inc. dropped the 'Murder' part of it, dont you think that the first thing that would happen is that they run in to legal problems? In my opinion, I believe that 'Ent.' is added at the end of a company or group that is involved in more than one media. These could be the obvious rap groups and/or other music acts, could be involved in film/theatre, you things like that. At least thats what I've seen.
