what is the difference between the 2 TDN plugins and native plugins from waves?

tdm based plugins are designed to be used with the Pro Tools HD TDM cards. Native plugins are for all other daws that use the host cpu to process effects like logic or pro tools LE and Sonar.

does the tdn have an advantage over the native? can the tdm be used on a regular pc if u get the tdm card?

TDM's advantage over native's host based processing is the use of DSP chips to do all the processing thus minimizing any strain on your CPU. Dependng on how many cards you have this increases how many plug-in and tracks you can work with in a session smoothly.

Think of it like this with native, everything is running thru your CPU to sound card to your monitors. All the processes of your computer (os, background services AND audio processes) have to share its power. In TDM the CPU is spared. Processing is done by any or all of the 9 DSP chips on one TDM HD Accel or core card. So now your CPU load will go down but your DSP load will go up. Your DSP can handle alot more tho. Plus you also can use RTAS in TDM but you will lose a couple voices depending.

Yes. If your comp supports it. You can buy the card and use TDM plug-ins. It will cost you tho.

Am I rambling or what?

I'd rather go for an UAD card though. The Accel cards can't be used separately (from PT|HD) anyway.

sucks im using a laptop right now and can't get the UAD card. do u think the UAD plugins sound better than the waves plugins? i never tried them before
