How the hell did Slim Thug get so much money. He ain't selling albums like that b. What the fu** up with that sh** son?! I saw his house and sh** on Cribs!

True. He was and is still holding down the music scene in Texas.

Other than that he's successful in real estate, investments and he's got record shops around Houston, so why not make that paper?
 
Slim Thug was selling 100's of thousands of units before he got signed. And as an indie, selling 100,000 units at $10 a pop, the paper stacks QUICKLY.
 
Why do you think all those rappers from Houston just started getting their shine in the last year or two?

If you want to see a real underground and indie hip hop scene, check out Houston and a lot of TX. They never had Def Jam, Universal etc down the street. These rappers would do everything to push their albums, and they were getting most of the money as a result of it. They literally sell them out the trunk. Forget paying for distribution, they would drive the albums themselves to different stores while going on tour. And they all had significant underground fan bases that would drop anything to go and cop the new album/mixtape they would drop.

These guys were pretty damn rich before the majors started calling. The record labels started to notice how much money was in the Houston market that had not been tapped yet. And a lot of the Houston rappers were reluctant to sign with a major label. They were already making a NICE stack of paper and they had almost 100% control of their projects.
 
I like Emanon's response. My cousin told me he was an entrenpreneur and owned many barbershops, dealships, real estate businesses etc. But come on dog, who the fu** gone buy a house from a nigga wit braids and a blunt in his mouth!

That simple, they don't care about him they wanna know if the house is in good condition, kept up etc
 
Am I the only one in this forum who understands what artist development is? Slim Thug has overall sold 100,000 independant albums, but that's like between 8 or 9 Indie albums. The Bentley's and house are all label facad's. You can get a Slim Thug feature for $5gs, a show for less. Why would a real millionaire even roll out of bed for that type money?

This sh** really is WWF. You think the undertaker's really a walking corpse from "death valley?" They followed the Lil' Flip template when they created slim thug. Lil' Flip said he sold 100,000 indie, he was supposed to be rich before his deal. I seen those clover chains up close, white gold and zirconias. Same sh** my broke ass wear.

That house is either LeToya's, he's renting, or it's owned by his label. He currently stays their, remember B2K on cribs? You think that's where they live now???

I'm not hating on dude, it just bothers me that these dudes make you think it's that real.
 
Slim thug is a hustla and he kno how to get that paper like a real hustla suppose to.I mean one thing you can say about them texas boyz that they are known for there grindin skillz.I mean the whole swisha house is known for there underground buzz.come on man those guyz been doing there thing on the underground level for years.they were selling thousand and thousand of record underground.Do you kno how much money that is when you dont have to pay nothing out or give the record company money.but thats how he get his money.

one thing about texas is they support their local artists.i remember when i went there they had a big book full of nothing but chopped and screwed music.a lot of people out there would rather listen to their local artist's than national ones.paul wall,chamillionaire,slim thug,and mike jones were all huge in texas before any one outside even heard of them and its alot of people in texas
 
Man he's been grindin more than music. He's got real-estate, a strip club and a couple car lots. He was paid before Pharrell. I read all that before he even dropped his album last year.

mayne he been havin money way b4 he signed, and dats real...created slim thug?? wtf, he been da same since he started aint nuttin change except people outside of texas and a few other states know bout him...just cuz where u from yall dont support local artists to the point where they makin big money underground dont mean texas aint doin it.....flip was rich b4 his deal, cham rich b4 his deal, mike jones, paul, they all was rich b4 they signed...and they got side hustles too, flip got his liquor, cham gotta custom car shop, slim got real estate shyt, paul do grillz, cham know how to do the grillz but i think he just be doin em for certain peeps tho, and idk bout mike, he prob doin some kinda shyt too....
