Why is it that White rappers are taken unseriously for the most part, while White producers don't get hassled at all???

(sorry for the sensitive topic)...but it had to be addressed...

Truth

It's because anyone can make dope beats but the black community doesn't think some honky has been through the trial and tribulations to lay down grind and grit in his lyrics. It's poetry with a hint of pain in the background. The white community will only embrase what the black community accepts and the black community will only accept what they feel they can relate to. This is the pain behind the truth. Plus you have to have a sick flow!

You can feel free to tear me limb from limb now!

The explaination is simple really if u watched hip hop.Hip Hop was for people that had to struggle but the cipher was their playground after they got a beatin whether in it or watchin it was fun.We needed stuff like that in the hood cuz the swing on tha playground was messed up,Niggas sellin crack around it,They gamblin for basketball and if they get into a fight it's serious. But yall already had rock see we couldn't afford instruments so we took our parent's old turntables and mics and turned them and ourselves into instruments. It jus straight up look weird for any old normal living person to rap i mean. What if u seen a buff dude with a durag on chillin with fallout boy???

yo...

Do you guys think that the Hip-Hop Community are hypocrites???

I mean, isn't letting white producers slide while baggin' on white rappers kinda foul-to-the-game???

its stupid to think white rappers havent gone through the trials and tribulations like black rappers, thats nonsense, eminem is a prime example of that, as far as producers go, ****, you can find some hardcore white boy producers, that could spit like crazy about their life, but just dont know how to write

Exactly!

^True. It's really not being white. It's about the stereotype backround and what alot of black people see from white people which is big house, nice car, hate black people blah blah.it's messed up though but hey we can't do much truthfully

simple:

out of sight = out of mind.

rappers are the ones who get all of the limelight, pictures, papparazzi, videos, movies etc. not the producers. a white rapper simply is not a good frontman or spokesperson in a predominately black culture.

predominatly black culture? you might wanna check again, maybe back when hip hop first started but now, theres just as many white fans, if not more than black fans now....i mean i can only say eminem, because i dont know many other white rappers whose had a terrible life, bubba sparxx is the only other white rapper that comes to mind, and i dont think he had such a bad life, of course ive never bought any of his records so i couldnt say, but eminem has done wonders for the hip hop community, has opened a lot of doors for other people, so i would say hes def a good spokesperson in a "predominately black culture"

I'm gonna say cuz white rappers come off as corny, whereas a white producer is behind the scenes, so you wouldn't see him anyways, just my take

I also think cuz most white rappers don't know how to / what to write about

just because hip hop's fan base has evolved into white and black doesn't mean that it's not a predominately black culture. the same way that death metal is predominately a white culture, and raggae is predominately an island culture. thats not a bad thing, thats just the way of the world. personally, i like the change and evolution of hip hop, and would like to see black, white, latino, asian, and european rappers respected equally. but for today, the original post is accurate.

search the web and library on hip hop culture. every thing you find will say that hip hop was and still is a predominately black culture and music genre. you can argue with them to, if you want.

and eminem is, excuse me, was, one white spokesman in this culture and music, out of 100's and 1000's of black rappers and mc's. we can say the same about jimi hendrix and average white band in their genres and cultures.

im just answering the original post, which to me was a good post and a legitimate question.

its because many of the white rappers make a big deal about how white they are in every fukin song...

People like Paul Wall, Lil Whyte, MC Serch, Evidence, etc etc dont really have much of a problem being embraced by the hip-hop culture. Some of them such as Paul Wall had predominantly black fan bases before they blew up.

Peace

yo...

OK...why do white rappers talk about the same thing as black rappers???

Ice, cars, weed...etc...

Since MOST blacks and whites are brought up completely differently (as far as living situations...i.e.: resources, discrimination, police assault\harrasment\murder) shouldn't whites and blacks be rappin' about completely different subjects???

If that is untrue, explain...

because thats what sells albums today. if you took out all of the lyrics in hip hop in reference to cars, rims, ice, chains, drugs, women, and sex, we would be left with just beats. hip hop was created to speak about the hardships of growin up, and the references to all of the material items and fame are just ways to forget about all of it and move on up.

not too many white rappers fit that bill, and if they do, they dont have the balls to be a rapper, or their managers, label, etc., dont have the balls to promote them in this industry. thats how it is at least up until today.who knows, maybe it will change. it already has a little, look at kanye, he grew up middle class, good neighborhood, good parents, good school. far from what hip hop was and is, and he's one of the most dominating voices in hip hop for the past few years. maybe a white producer will start spittin and be the next kanye. you never know.

you just gotta be different, and hope it works, but i dont think the public is ready for a white kanye or whatever at this time

I think it's kind of racist to judge somebody's whole entire life on just the color of there skin...

When a white kid is born he is not automatically placed in the suberbs, and when a black kid is born he is not automatically placed in the "hood".

That's not how it works...

yo...

Well..we gotta look at RATIOS...the numbers...

For a FACT...more blacks are born into poverty in this country than whites...THIS "IS" HOW IT "WORKS"...

emsiwun:

Where exactly are you getting your information from? Cause where I'm from the ratio is pretty much 50/50...

And if you are saying that just because somebody is a certain color, they're going to have a certain life-you are full of sh-t...

That's not how it works...

yo...

I said COUNTRY...not, "where YOU are from"...

How about YOU explain why whites are looked down upon "GENERALLY" for trying to be rappers and why it's coo if they play the background as producers...

1. ) You sound like a mad white guy, who can't rap and is trying to say he is looked down upon because he is white.

2. ) Most white rappers I've met, try to be lil' Eminem, they're not there own person. Plus, look at the image past white rappers have set... K-Fed, Vanilla Ice, etc...

3. ) You seriously need to open your eyes... Eminem, Bubba Sparxxx, Lil' Wyte, TwIsTiD, Paul Wall, Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, etc... Highly respected rappers.

4. ) It's just like rapping-if they can produce a hot beat, then they're cool being producers, if they cannot produce a hot beat, it isn't cool for them to be producers.
