Who wrote Ne-yo's So Sick?

yea he wrote it himself, Ne-Yo was a writer before becoming an artist, he blew up with Mario's - Let Me Love You. Then got his deal. He's prolly one of the hottest writers out right now next to Sean Garrett & The Clutch.

True that...and for some reason, people can't figure out their formula. I be trying to tell people...Those writers just take something ordinary, and explain it in an extraordinary way.

For instance...

A song about breaking up with a girl and missing her.

Generic Writer would say...

Oh girl why'd you leave me,
Baby girl I'm so blue,
You left me all alone,
Oh girl I miss you,
Why'd you have to say goodbye,
you went away and made me cry,
I thought our love would always last,
and now our love is in the past.

But someone like Ne-Yo would say...

Gotta change my answering machine,
now that i'm alone,
cuz right now it says that we,
can't come to the phone,
and i know it makes no since,
since you walked out the door,
but it's the only way i hear your voice anymore...

See? They both express the same sentiment, but the first one is boring, using the same old overused phrases and cliche's, and Ne-Yo's is describing a situation, in an extra-ordinary way.

And all those writers do that. That's what makes them great (and that's what makes other writers suck (to me)).

Ne-Yo is a great songwriter, he has that signature way of writing songs as a first person story. I instantly recognize what songs he wrote for other artists when i hear them for the first time.

we heard his original reference of irreplaceable @ sony, the song was written for Omarion, but omarion turned it down and a year later Beyonce got a #1 hit with it ;). I always knew the song was written from a male perspective, my original thought was that ne-yo wrote it for himself for his 1st album and it just didnt make the cut, so he recycled it for B.

The one joint i dont think i wouldve ever gussed he wrote until i saw the credits was Rihanna - Unfaithful. Damn that was a smash.

His new single is the ****, gonna be #1

you thought that about irreplaceable too? First time i heard that song, i was just like damn, that sounds like dude song.

And then when I heard Ne-Yo sing it on Fat Man Scoop's (i think) show (the one where he was saying beyonce had nothing to do with writing that song), he sang it from the male perspective, and I was like HA, I KNEW IT!

Just goes to show how one person's reject is the next person's smash hit.

ne-yo got hot tracks..

because of you is on repeat at times..lol

I hate artist that don't write ****, to me their not considered artist, just talented singers/rappers, that's why I not a Wayne fan like I use to be but now he writes his own **** so that's cool

Don't forget those Nordic fellows who wrote the music. All in all, it was great songwriting inspired by a great beat.

yea Stargate produced all the joints that ne-yo wrote on, they are the **** as well this year, all chart-toppers and now they got the new Beyonce and Shakira joint.

don't forget Johnta Austin :sing:

Yea in my personal opinion alot of his stuff sounds like a young Michael Jackson when he was brown maybe when he first became beige. We did a show with him back in February he was a pretty down to earth dude and a hell of a songwriter and singer. So I definitely give him props its crazy how MJ has been out so long and u still see so many artists styles being influenced by his own. A little weird but a true icon no doubt
