Is it just me... maybe i have a bad copy.. but it sounds like the whole album was mixed terribly. The vocals sound waay to distinct over the beat, and every beat on the albums seems squashed and blended, not EQed and clear.

Maybe i have a bad version, but the album sounds awful to me

Did you buy it or bootleg? Shouldnt be a surprise if the latter. The mix sounds fine to me, but now that you mention it some of the parts could have been brought out more not sure if thats what you mean.

i personally hate his second album.. vocals are wack.. and i dont like most of the beats... but his first album is the best album ever made.. real talk

yeah his first album was crazy... but this new one.. it seems like all the producers tried to make the same exact Jeezy style beat so the whole album is boring... i might of got a ****ty copy of it... haha FOOT is right.. def downloaded it first to see how it was and i was disgusted so i didn't buy it.

last albums i bought were Games and Re-Up cuz they were worth it

shawty redd is my favorite producer.. but idk bout the beats on that second album.. that ish that changes every four bars is annoying! (J.E.E.Z.Y.) ... i think jeezy lost his voice on the second album.. sounds like he's tryin to sing or some ish.. my ears aint likin it... but ur right the first album is insane!

the beat for Hypnotize is the scariest ish ever

thats not a beat.. thats called throwing somethin together in a couple minutes and forgetting to use kicks.. smh..

i was really feeling 3am too. that is one of my fav tracks currently.

i preview the album everything was alike but for some reason timberland track had just something about it. jeezy voice most likely did change
i mean weed, age, money, babymamas, girlfriends, and losing alot of weight have effect on people and how they sound

yeah 3 AM is the best, dreamin or maybe I got money was the worst, but heh it sold... I hope TI dont come with anything close to what I've heard off his last CD's (meaning he grows as an artist, which he's been doin a good job)

Jeezy gave what the streets asked 4 though I cant be mad at that

yeah not gonna lie.. the timbo track is hot... the single lovin it is hot... the runners track with r kelly is hot

i still feel like all those tracks could have been mixed better

although timbos track does sound pretty clean

and this line had me cracking up inside dont know why it just came out of no where An adlib here, and an adlib there (ay)
**** it, adlibs everywhere (yeeeeeeeeah)

The track with Timbaland is HOT

Naw...it's par at best, nothing special. THis is the way I look at the album....1st few tracks are ok.....after Go getter it goes down hill from there....

1st album is a classic in my book

I agree that Jeezy seems to have kinda... wack mixing on a lot of his beats. I DJ and I remember when his single with Akon dropped I have the same problem with it, the kicks real squashed, no dynamic room at all, everything just mushed together with the vocals stuck on top of them. Timbalands track is pretty clean, but it seems most of the other producer tracks suffer from the same problem.
Having mp3s is definetly part of the problem, but at the same time, radio does heavy compression too, so mixing with that in mind is nothing new. Plus his are still more mushy than say a Dre beat for example.

That track wit Timbo is aight, and im a Timbo fan, but it wasn't all dat 2me. On the mixing side, I do feel the same way, I been noticed that it didn't sound to clean. The first album was the best to me, and I dont think those producers just gave him those beats saying "Jeezy would sound hot on this", I think he asked for that sound so the whole album can have the same feel from one song to the next. Only songs that were diffrent was his single songs. On this album he tried to expand a lil more, but not too much. Next album should be a diffrent sound. I dont think he wanted to just switch it up all the way and have people saying "what is this sh!t", he's taking his time, thats why I say next album will be on another level.

I Got Money (DJ Toomp), 3AM (Timbaland), and The Realist (Drumma Boy) were the only real stand out tracks

and the last track The Inspiration (Anthony Dent) used my sample (Diana Ross - Muscles) so I'm hating on that all daay lol

Go Getta was shameless
the Cool and Dre joints sounded like they used the hammersound organ soundfonts, I agree about the mixing, even on 3 AM that little Chinese sounding synth sound kinda cluster**** too

and I'm definitely feeling Vol. 1 more
