no body has money to buy albums. It's A Recession

Nobody WANTS to buy albums.
Why should I buy your cd in a plastic case if I can get the music for free from the internet.
Where's the value in a plastic case and booklet?

It's not about selling music anymore, you have to use music to sell something else.

you don't need to sell anything else, just make some good music.

yeah I think you're on point. Anyway, it's sad. The good times were when you were waiting for an album for months, saved the money, bought the CD, and read the cover while you played it.

plus, it's also sad that album as a format is dying. because a real album is more than 16 songs on a CD.

You guys think you always know the answer...but I bet none of you purchased one record that week....

Please prove me wrong.

Just to play devil's advocate.... If indeed nobody in this thread bought an album... this proves exactly what?

That nobody wants to pay an industry that has been ripping people off for over 50 years?

Yea, I don't feel bad one bit for not lining label tycoons pockets .. And 85% of the artists that run around in the industry have become sheep that will do anything a label tells them to do for some upfront mils..

I ain't losin' any sleep off of music theft... You should be giving your music away to a degree anyway. Like somebody mentioned earlier. If you put your soul into your material.. You will develop a following and there are many doors to go through to make money off of your music besides record sales..

Sooner or later somebody will have to sacrifice to slay the beast (RIAA).

The value in a plastic case and booklet...it's tangible. You can hold it in your hands. I personally like booklets...who produced what...what samples were used...etc...

Lots of Value.

Btw...I hope you get a virus...For downloading ppls hardwork.
It's only $10-$12.99. No excuses.

I like...I buy.
HIP HOP sales are down because of you and your kind.

Bad attitude man. I would expect to hear that from someone who doesn't do music.

Or how about from somebody who places a different value on music altogether?

Let's be real.... What (or who) do you make music for??

What percentage of artists do you feel do this to attain fame and riches? How many genuinely LOVE making music? How many LOVED making music and have become disillusioned by the industry? And at what point does somebodies integrity become compromised?

I thought music was all about expression...?

If you are enslaved by corporate America (or Israel) and you relinquish your creative control in exchange for promissory, what does that make you?

Doesn't that kind of turn it into your mind being made up for you?

And all in all, do the ends justify the means?

The album I purchased with my hard earned cash is doing really well.

Jay-Z Blue Print 3

Drake is killing it. Very happy for him. I will buy his official album.

Reakon too. Good for that brother.

Feel sorry for Ghost tho.

Mack 10 should quit...I'm from the West and nobody wants to hear gangsta rap. Grow up already. Soft White. More like Hard Wood.

I bought Relapse two weeks ago, anyway, it doesn't matter. I already had that stuff illegally downloaded. But a CD is a whole another thing. First, sounds better. Don't laugh, I know 'm probably the one in a thousand who cares about sound quality in 09. Another think is the cover.

However, I actually bought a "Produced for Hungary" version, which is probably a downgraded version of the original CD. It doesn't even contain tracklist with credits, only a normal list on the back and that's it.

I wanted to buy the normal version, but couldn't find it anywhere in the store. I don't think it's a good idea to dumb down the CD, even if it's cheaper. It's one more reason to not buy it.

They should put out the best packages and booklets ever, in this downloading era.

Just buy what you like...can you go into foot locker and get those new Jordan's for FREE...Hell no! You'll get your a$$ arrested.

Quick question. Do you really think Raekon would prefer you to DL his album for FREE. OR take your broke ass to BestBuy, Target...hell even itunes and Purchase what he worked hard on.

You guys are just making excuses for stealing with this FREE ish and building a following...Raekon would love for his follow to buy his record.

You don't love Hip Hop...you selfish bastards. Now, that's funny and sad at the same time.

Where did you go? I saw tons of Relapse CD at Target. I agree...The packaging and booklets should be NICE! I still have my "ALL EYES ON ME" booklet all nice. 30 years from now when I look back it will be there in my hands...NOT some fried hard drive.

And I GUARANTEE you that while any artist that does this for a living doesn't advocate stealing their music... They are much, MUCH more upset with the artist deal they signed that is giving them none of their publishing.. After finding out that they are locked into making 3 more albums under that stipulation... and learning that most of that money isn't going to them ANYWAY.... it really becomes a moot point.

Now with some of these more cultivated veteran artists... I will ABSOLUTELY buy their music... Most of them have been burned already and are on their second or third major anyway..
