The only line in there is " Prodigy took it... a lil' too far, don't f*ck with Brooklyn. " But that's old news.

how the **** is this a diss ?

k let me point a few things out, i dint notice this either until the dj pointed it out.

I seen Mase do it, I seen Ye do it,
X came through, caught lighter fluid,
Still i came through it,
clap for em,
but I’m the blueprint,
I’m like the map for em,

...
nobody could touch Puff back when Puff had it
...
I had the Illmatic on bootleg
...
but what Em did was silly,
the white boy blossomed after Dre endorsed him,
his flow on Renegade, f-cking awesome,
Applaud him,
as in, dood f-king awesome, and i care because?
...
Wat up Jeezy, wat it do,
y’all remind me of us in early 92,
...
Outcast landed, 3 thou was ill,
like a male version of Lauren Hill,

...

now again this was just something they were commenting on, but then again it could b something else. I think it just depends on how you look at it.

Ok, I'll buy into these parts alil but Jay is a cooky dude, he knows what he's done is unprecedented in hip hop and theres really no point in not voicing it. Ask Jeezy what he thinks of Jay... "He's the blueprint, nothing else to say". Kinda sounds like Jays just aware of himself and thats not something we see alot of in hip hop cause most cats go home before they get this far. The only person alive who can get that kinda specific on a song and it ring true is Snoop Dogg. He's been around for along time and dude brought alot to the table whether you young'ens remember or not...

Clap for'em...

Even after centuries Jay still can't get over Em killin' him on his own song.

Yeah that was nice, but this is better

edit: Also the song wasn't a diss, it was Jay-Z given out props

you sir got a good point. I personally like jay-z's music and got nothing against em, i just thought it was a good point that was brought up by cypha. knowing jay-z he deff capable of something like this, doods a genius.

Silliest controversy ever....you have to look way too deep into that to see it as a diss.

And why is this just now coming up? This album been out awhile.....

Jeez how is this a dis, he's givin dabs to the big names in Hip Hop

This aint a diss track. He's basically givin props to the dudes that had alot of impact in the game but in the same breath sayin he's the blueprint for them. J Cole killed him on his own song too by the way. Cole did it to Wale too, lol.

He's basically saying: "all these rappers were good. But they came and went while I'm still here"

exactly...for the most part... even Nas is about done. I doubt my dude will do 2 more albums. his latest joint is taking to long and it's like waiting on Sade or Dre to get back to work... Theres a difference in creating an event and procrastination... just my 0.02

Yea i was listenin to this on my way to work yesterday. it was def interesting the way they broke it down but its not that serious to analyze it like that lol

lol he duz say "TI literally wanted to shoot up tha charts" but i dont think he tryin to diss him tho its kinda lik a story of the the rap games bigger artists

If y'all think that's a diss song y'all are out of your minds.

Jay was recounting some of the biggest movements in hip hop history. He was chronicling how the torch has been passes from artist to artist, from camp to camp.

The song is saying there's a star every generation...and then he introduces HIS star, J.Cole.

This song was about putting J.Cole's name in the same breath as those other greats. Nothing more.

Whoever started that diss record crap needs to be slapped, for this he say, she say, little girl nonsense.

jay-z really is a subliminal rapper. word is, if you play a tape/WAV/record of BP3 or american gangster backwards, you will hear illuminati hypnosis messages. and if you play kingdom come backwards, it actually sounds better -- but that's not saying much.
Even after centuries Jay still can't get over Em killin' him on his own song.
lol

imo, prodigy in his prime exceeded jay-z in his prime. both have kind of fallen off by now, but even at this point, HNIC 2 tops BP3 any day imo.
