This is a question to whoever has these things: How high do they elevate your monitors? and do they actually make that noticeable of a difference?

Im thinking about getting a set to increase my mixing ability, and to elevate my monitors enough so that when i put my Keyboard on my desk it puts the monitors above the keyboard.

def. worth the 40 bucks. not a night and day difference, but its noticible.

I use mopads mainly for positioning. I have them on cinderblocks for speaker stands. I like them and for 40 bucks its a good deal. Not a necessity but helps.

They help, Great for positioning, & stop vibration!!! Help clear up the bass response also!!

i use em....like the others said they dont make a huge difference as far as mixing goes, however , im sure the make enough of a difference to be worth the 40 bucks. They are only about 2-3 inches in height though.

This is what my old setup looked like...

I moved the KONTROL49 to the left on an extension of the corner unit in front of another monitor. Imagine just the Dell monitor and the RP5's now with MoPads. Under the desk is a sub, also on MoPads, angled up towards the listening position.

It's hard to describe in words how the MoPads really affected the sound, but I noticed a cleaner bass response from my entire setup. I'm guessing that the separation from the solid maple desk and hardwood (bamboo) floor had a lot to do with it. Low frequencies are more noticeable as well.

Different angling options are great if your head sits above or below your high frequency drivers. I suppose you could say you have the option of providing a true response from your monitors, but the separation is definitely noticeable in lower frequencies.

I think the Mopads do a a good job for what they are, but decoupling properly needs mass. I guaranteed if you covered a cinderblock in maple veneer and then put your mopads on that, your bass response would be on point. You could even try putting some type of weight on top of the mointors, sitting on the mopads, sitting on the beautiful veneered block sitting on your desk. Like a sandwich.

I got cinder blocks with mouspads at the top with a shelf on the top of that. Then the mopads and speakers on top of that.

You should check out the Primacoustics Rx Recoil Stabilizers too. They are more expensive, but i've seen people over at GS who recommends them over the MoPads.

Only thing I don't like about Mopads is they sound like a feminine product.

Pics or STFU! :p

Ye there worth it, they also angle your monitors towards your ears.

Will do when I finish the "Obi Cave". Will probably be buying a second set of mo pads too.

I build my own with some bass traps...

I paste together pieces of some extra aualex bass traps... the speaker in the middle of the a's
gives them a lift and stabilzes them......

made a open in box.... bass trap on the back and on the sides and the bottom of the speaker.. slip the speakers in and bam!!!!.. I didn't think about the top .. I'm in the market for new Monitors so I'll wait and might have to cut up the bass trap speaker "surrounders" so they fit the new ones... lol
