best daw for use with mpc?

in your opinion what is the best or most compatible daw to use with a mpc?
 
The question is a little bit weird and vague. It makes it sound like you really don't understand the capabilities of "an MPC" ... especially since there are many different models with differing capabilities. It also makes it sound as if you really don't understand any of the capabilities of any of the major DAW applications.

So ... given that you've failed to provide any kind of menaingful context for the question ... what exactly do you mean by "best or most comaptible" ...? They are ALL compatible with audio and MIDI ... so what are you driving at?
 
well you pretty much hit the nail on the head, i dont know much about ither the mpc or many daws, but, i need something that i can record my mpc on to the computer with, then add more tracks and more instruments and then easily edit them. Does that make it any easier to understand? i used fl and reason along time ago before i even had a mpc, but i dont know if id want to use them again, maybe reason, but i am up for tryign something new.
 
Your best option is download the varous free demos, try 'em out and see what you like.

It really doen't make any sense to ask what works best ot is "most compatible" until you really understand what is being discussed. It's like asking what the best hamburger is if you don't even know what a hamburger is.

You have to walk before you run, and right you aren't even crawling.
 
aight well thanks for the help, but more then anything, i was tryign to find what peoples opionions were, and what other people liked best. but i am just gonan get some demos.
 
Well.. I really like Sonar 7 very easy to work with.. But that is my opinion.. See if someone has a copy of Cubase LE that comes with everything you buy nowadays and JUST test it out..
 
I had an easy time using Sonar with an MPC back when I had one...I imagine if I were a Cubase owner and went that way instead, it would work just as well too.

Dansgold is right though, if you know what you are doing and how it works, they all will get it done. Midi and audio is midi and audio...

As for what I like best, it is Sonar, because I downloaded demo versions of all of the DAWs at the time and found I liked Sonar best.
 
sonar 7 is nice..i dont have a mpc yet though

Are you using a PC or a Mac? If your using a PC, then Sonar is a good option, if using a Mac, consider Ableton Live 7 (Drum Rack is a cool new feature that I think is useful with my MPC), or go with Logic Express and then if you get good at that move up to Logic Studio. You will pay $199 for Express and $499 for Studio, but the upgrade from Express to Studio is $299, so you don't waste any money going with Express first.

But, if your on a PC, Logic is not an option. As Sonar is not if on a Mac.

Do as DansGold said and go to ableton.com, and cakewalk.com as well as others and try them out. Ableton gives you complete access to the program in the demp, just without saving and the time limit is 30 mins at a time before it resets.

Wow ... check them all out: Sonar, Ableton LIVE, Cubase, Tracktion, etc. that's just a short list of some of the more popular DAW programs.

It'll be fun ... some frustration and head-scratching ... but, the good kind !
