Hi people, I'm just getting started in hip-hop/R&B/Grime production after being primarily a musician for years. I'm wondering where the best place to get drums to use in my NI maschine would be? Where do the pro's get their drums from? Are those kits you see on e-bay any good? Worth gambling five or ten pounds on (I'm in the UK)?? Also, is there anywhere to get free drums/virtual instruments from? I'm a vet so cant work, this makes anything thats free HUGELY appealing to me right now lol If anyone just wants to clue me up on this whole subject I'd really appreciate it. Maschine has some nice drums but I'm guessing they've been used to death and if I wanna stand out I'm gonna need something different right? Also, how difficult would it be to chop up my own? I found a sample of a drummer getting it in properly on one of those roland kits with loads of 808's loaded on. I'm thinking chopping some of those up might be the way to go? Anyway,Thanks in advance.

No.

There are free drum kits around a few of them are good most aren't. I suggest chopping breaks or getting kits from a reputable source.

The Maschine expansions are very good. I make more traditional hip hop but I really enjoy Helios Ray the best I also use Conent Gardens, True School and Raw Voltage a lot. Transistor punch is also useful. I have all of them except for Drop Squad, the Vice one and Dark Pressure. Ill probably grab those ones eventually

Not sure what this means, maybe lost in translation lol Think you mean Maschines drums are not dead? If so, I didn't say that LOL I'm obviously not a maschine hater - I own (and LOVE) maschine! I just know I'm gonna need other drums too if I'm gonna do this seriously and make money from it. 'Godparticle', where would you suggest as a reputable source then? and Xabiton - yeah thanks man, I was thinking about the expansion packs. I saw a guy review conant gardens and they sounded nice. I want my tracks to stand out from other peoples. Y'know? Some of the stock stuff is actually pretty hot in my opinion but I just want more!! I'm greedy! haha  By the way, Xabiton, which of the maschine expansions would you say would suit me, for producing hip-hop and R&B mainly? Or how would you describe the ones you currently own?

There are tons of good free drums if you just do some searching. GoldBaby has good drums if you have a little cash and I think he has some free kits too but his Superanalogue drums are really good if you're looking for 808s. Also try to find the Boi1da kit I think that one is free too

I usually hit the

Gold baby, the deadly drum kits are good, the drum broker has some good stuff, just look around a bit. And of course like I said breakbeats.

Is there a way to delete sounds straight from FL? Its a hassel trying to delete them from a separate window outside the program.

Just buy your own drums and record them. That is what I did.

goldbaby when alliens attack is a good pack so is the sequel.dope sounding hits
