Just curious which ones you all use and which ones are worth checking out.

I own Hypersonic, Sampletank, Sonik Synth, Akoustik Piano, and Garritan Personal Orchestra.

The one I'm most interested in buying is Plugsound Pro. I was going to buy it this month, but my money got tight.

me too

Hey barry let me know how it is when you get it. I was looking into it too... :)

Kontakt is very fully-laden with features, even to the point of bloating with too much stuff. I think it's starting to be a bit obscure from the original "sample sounds, play them" mentality that made hardware samplers intuitive and fun. Sure you can still do all that, though - it just seems a bit...overwhelming.

Best, "classic" sampler plugin with great features and focus on building your own stuff - Vember Audio's Shortcircuit.

i consider the best sampler kontakt, it can do the most out of everything very very very powerful. thats for very complex sampling, personally i wouldnt want that. a best software sampler as in relation to the mpc, i would say is intakt which i have and am very very happy with, pretty simple nd very good features.

I loev Intakt...the best software sampler out there, for all its limitations, it is very easy, straightforward, and can handle most tasks on some level for sampling.

Shortcircuit is great from simple to complex needs.
In it's freeware form it's great for chopping samples, and triggering them mpc style.
The filters, and effects are very nice too.

I cast my vote for Vsampler 3. Not the most powerful, but has in my opinion, the best interface. You need a good range of features to get things done, but you also need an interface that encourages rather than discourages accessing them.

how come i haven't heard anybody say the EXS24 ...? it got my vote...

Maybe because back in 2006 Logic was really expensive and much rarer than it is now.
