I'm new to wavelab. As I try to open a wav file the program would shut down. I try different ways to open my wav files from cubase and none of them work.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Can't open wav files with cubase, only import them into a project. Two different things.

As far as the wavelab issue, re-install or contact Steinberg.

wavelab has load , import and drag and drop with no problems and im only using version 5. What version are you using and what error is it giving you?

I have the same problem with Opening WAV files in Wavelab 5.
This started when I upgraded my O/S to Vista Ultimate a few days ago.
There are no errors reported, the program just closes when I attempt to open a WAV file. Another thing to note is that I am able to record successfully in Wavelab. I can even apply effects and render them, BUT the program shuts down when I try to save the file.

When running XP Pro, I had no issues. I'm wondering if it maybe something to do specifically with the Vista O/S. Looking for solutions at the moment to get it working...

OK, after a LOT of searching, I've found a solution for Vista users.

First off, you must set Wavelab to start in Compatibility mode (xp sp2) for this fix to work.

I can't post the link, but do a search for R a P I d S h A r E Wavelab Vista Fix on G00gle ;-)

It's worked for me, so good luck to you ;-)

I downloaded a wavelab vista fix but when i begin to run it, it asks me to select the wavelab 6 directory..

Somebody in another forum said to try and change the compattbility by going into the properties of wavelab and enabling wavelab to run under windows xp (service pack 2)...didn't work for me but maybe someone else..lol

Check your Wavelab error log. You may have to set up doctor watson first. You can find it in the tools folder in the Wavelab program files folder.

Thanks for the reply but i'm still struggling even to run dr.watson..I have located it but when I try to run it an error of some sort stops me from executing the program..

You should post in the Wavelab forum at cubase.net. There are lots of knowledgable peeps there who use Wavelab every day, and also the guy who writes Wavelab (PG).

I suspect that your problems are systemic, which is to say that seomthing is wrong with your system that is causing conflicts with Wavelab. My first recommendation would be to do a complete, clean reinstallation of your system from the OS up.
