Does anyone have a sample of Don Cannon's "Cannon" Drop that he uses on all his songs and mixtapes? Ive found a few but it usually still has the instrumentals playing in the background, does anyone have it as an acapella? Would be hella apreciated, been lookin for it for ages. Also the "Steps Back" One too if anyones got it.

The "cannon" drop came from Madden 2001/2002 I believe from the announcers in the game....I just noticed this when I went back and played it for old times sake

^^^^ur right about that its from Madden.. John Madden is actually saying.. "Gannon" for Rich Gannon the Raiders quarterback.. I read that on wiki.. I believe thas also where he got the Step Back as well

I don't think it would be a good idea to steal that tag....it's one thing to steal an effect...but another that says somebodys name?

lol@ homemade Gangsta Grillz CDs. I made one when I was in 12th grade...I ain't giving you the samples though.

lol, yo hold up! everyones got me wrong! lmao, a homemade gangsta grillz, i wouldnt even try, why mess with perfection? Nah, wel actually, after preem Cannon is my favorite producer and ive been following his stuff for ages now, wouldnt copy or steal, thered be no point. Im just tryna start a massive samples folder with everyones drops, from Green Lanterns GREEN LANTERN, to pharrells yezzir and so on. Havin the clip is pretty much as havin a song, havin it doesnt mean ima steal and use it. I want dramatics ones as well, but , dont wana be greedy

Who knows, if it is Gannon then it isn't really stealing his name. Hilarious that he got it from Madden. I should look for a similar name to mine on something like that. Could imagine one of those Fifa accents as a tag (with cheering in the background).

I remember there was an interview with him, and the interviewer had asked him about the tag, and he said that it was his voice. I guess to avoid a potential lawsuit. HeHe

Yeah, it is actually off Madden NFL 2002, everyone was tryna figure it out as to where he got it, its pat summerall saying it, he finally posted how he got it on his FB:

"A trademark of Cannon's is the voice of football commentator Pat Summerall saying "Gannon" (in reference to former NFL quarterback Rich Gannon)in the beginning of the songs, but it is construed to sound like "Cannon"

He also uses "the cannon" from fight night.

nah d. cannon got his drop from an old canon camera commercial. i cant seem to find it but its definitely old and i DO remember that the part he sampled was near the end when they show rolling hills. i remember seeing it in class. youtube it

and while we're on this topic, I bet you guys didn't knw that Just Blaze's tag comes from the original Super Mario Brothers game on the NES. On level 32 you have to go down a pipe and smash a turtle and then you can put on the Just Blaze. And then it says.....JustBlaze!!!!

A lot of producers have some kind of obsession with NES and SNES games. Emulation rules :P
