In between legal woes and battling rivals to the throne, T.I. has managed to still handle business on the music side.

The popular Atlanta rapper has announced the signing of legends Eightball and MJG to Grand Hustle Records.

The huge announcement was made live during T.I.’s set at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash on Saturday (June 14th).

To solidify the partnership, Eightball and MJG came out and performed “Don’t Make” to roars from the sold out Phillips Area crowd.

Eightball and MJG debuted in 1993 with the regional hit Comin’ Out Hard.

The duo went on to achieve mainstream recognition with On Top of the World, which included the hit single “Space Age Pimpin’.”

They released two albums on Bad Boy Records: Living Legends (2004) and Ridin High (2007).

The former was certified gold and has sold over 600,000 copies.

The duo also has nine solo albums between them.

The most successful are Eightballs’ Lost which went double platinum, and MJG’s No More Glory, which has been certified gold.

Contract terms or an album release date have not been announced by Grand Hustle Records.

Their deal with Diddy was different. They were doing "album to album" deals with Puff.

Basically, the deals were structured so that after they recoup, they split the profits 50/50, per album.

So after the last album, they decided not to do another deal with him.

Yeah, that's not typically how deals go, but that's how they worked it.

Yeah I Wasnt Feelin 8Ball And MJG SHyt With Bad Boy.... Hope Their **** With Grand Hustle Sound More Gutta

Hell yah! Grandhustle could use more collabos with more vets of the South...this is gonna create good music I promise you this.

I know LOST was... IS, a raw ass 2cd... but I did not know thAT IT WENT 2xPLAT......

bad move but I love these dudes

this is old news.... I look at all these rapper ran labels the same..... no one will ever out shine the superstar.... period!!!!!

Rocafella Records (except Kenya which he actually grinded harder than both Jay & dame to get the fame he deserved)
FlipMode
Terror Squad
Grand Hustle
DTP (chingy's first album was they best success other than they compilation cds)
Cash Money (which prolly has the best track record outside of No Limit for more than they superstar rapper doing good)
G-Unit (they was doing good till the Game single handily destroyed the squad himself)

have the same thing in common.... they never show love to the other cats on they squads even if they are equally as raw as the superstar rapper

I love all these guys talents but for some reason, it never works out

I'd say its different because T.I. is partners with Jason Geter the business over at Grand Hustle should still be straight. They have a whole staff over there and are distributed by Atlantic

In general though signing under an artist can be a bad idea but a few of the grand hustle projects have experienced success

Peace

Next year Ball & G will sign with DTP, after that Rap A Lot, after that, the Brand Spanking Absolutely Newer Than last Time We Were New New No Limit.

man they need to stop bull****tin n start makin good music again. their beat now are ass, 8ball sounds like he doesn't even wanna spit anymore, n MJG, he still got it but like Jai said, his solo **** was wack.

if they would've kept it consistent in the 2000's they would still be big, like UGK

Ball & G's best days are behind them let it go. They are rap legends but their time has came & went. These labels need 2 stop bullsh*tin & build new artists up.

Their glory days.
