Obviously we all know which are the better decks, but, as with most, i am on a budget, so what i'm asking is, how MUCH better are the technics, and what are the major drawbacks of the Pt2100's.

See, the thing is, I can get a great deal on 2xPt2100's and a Pio DJM300 mixer, with carts, slipmats, cheapo phones etc., all new for £630.

However, to get the same setup, but with second hand technics will cost about £850, and, for me, that price difference is an enormous amount of work, waiting, and not to mention money not spent on vinyl.

So, is it actually worth getting the Pt2100's ( i can get a similar, but more expensive, deal for the 2400's, but i've heard the only difference is the lcd- is this true???)
or do they not have enough torque for touching the platter etc. (like a lot of non technics!)

ie. Are they really a load of junk and just not worth it, or can they perform pretty nicely with few drawbacks for someone wanting to mix prog.house in their bedroom?

Cheers,

...
Steve

it's definetly not $hit!!!
this is a great table for the begginer and even for the pro... offcourse, it's not a technics but it's close.
you can touch the platter and it won't stop, it has enough torque...
they can perform really nice in your bedroom and even in a party... and if you can get them cheap than go for it! it's not a waste of money.

Thanks for the reply. Looks like the Gemini's then!

Cheers.

:D

Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 2400's and the 2100's? (apart from the lcd that is)

Good :D

Who in their right mind would pay 90 quid for an lcd screen??

someone who have the cash, and like the look of it...
i know i wouldn't pay even 50$ for that LCD... i can buy a good cartridge in that money.
