usually takes about 3 hours including da chops i make in acid (still waiting to get my hands on padkontrol and better slicing software). i had da worst day not so long ago when i had a melody in my head but i couldnt put it down to start da beat. i was soooooo frustrated but i guess it's part of da beatmaking journey.

peace

I have taken 1 hour to 3-4 days! It totally depends on whether I am making a beat for an idea or something I am going to try and shop to someone. Sometimes I mic up real instruments and mixing and recording also takes much longer for that! It all depends, but my favorite beat I have ever done, I had the idea in my head already and came home and banged out the idea in about 15 minutes, then mixed and matered it the next day and it took all day - about 8-9 hours to get it perfect!

Not sure if anyone ever does it the same? Like they have said before it also depends on the family and work , etc... That everyday shyt can really f up your flow! Ya Know!

PEACE!

It takes me about 3 days.. I will lay down the main elements and add a few more fill-ins that usually takes about 1-5 hours.. Then day 2, I will arrange everything to my liking. On Day 3, I will tweak and cross reference check on my near and far field monitors.. Usually I do about 2 maybe 3 beats a week, depends on what I'm feeling

I do a beat per week...due to alot of working and spending time with the wifey and all that good stuff....so i get bout 1 beat down a week i just got on the grind after 3 and a half years......check me out

usually a couple of days. sometimes longer.. Ill have the basics down in a few hours

co-sign...may take a few hours to get the basic song...not including sampling and chopping (I usually do this the day before and sample everything I think I might use for the next week). Then I can play around. I like to make my main parts in the Triton after using those 16 tracks...I track out to cubase...add additional live playing, arrange and mix. In all, I may stretch out the work over the course of a week or two. Going between several projects at once...This gives me time to remove my bias from song and be objective about what should/shouldn't be there. Often simplify arrangemen/cut out certain parts that croud the mix...but just freely adding parts over a few weeks allows for very full productions that can easily be refined...

Sometimes 5 minutes sometimes 3 days. It all depends on if we are considering the final mix as part of the equation. Im a bit of a perfectionist I have like 40 unfinished beats cause I just wasnt fellin them.

Since I used to use all hardware and now I am on software it seems to take much longer for me. Had to sell the hardware to support the family dam wife and kids. Hopefully I will get back to buying hardware again soon.

after i chop. its about 1hr to lay down my sequences on the mp...gettin the right sounds in the right places. i go in spells..lay something down listen to it then proceed. after its all done its probably 1-2 days. im getting picky as hell.

I rarely finnish a beat.

Usually I get the main Idea done within 30 minutes. But that's just the skeleton. I like to add instrumentation and ****. Then I leave it alone and come back and finnish it later.

I honestly think if you are spending more than an hour to get the original idea down, it wont turn out.

im usually quicik wit my concepts but i never finish right out

if i already know what kind of track i want 2 make i can do it in 30 min

sum times an hr if i am enjoying myself 2 much lol

After finding a sample and chopping it, i usually have my basic skeleton of a beat in 15 min or so or i scrap it. But i may spend another hour or two tweaking, arranging, adding, changing up, etc. I'd say from start, going through records, to finish, mixing down, it takes me 3-6 hours per beat. Less when i'm really feeling it. My better beats take me alot less time.

When I'm putting a beat together, it can take 30 mins - 2 hours, depending on the song. Sometimes a beat won't be fully finished for like 2 montyhs, as I will constantly tweak and EQ. Other times I do it quickly and then never touch it again. As they say, you can't put a time limit on creativity!
