what is the name of the sample. kanye keeps mentioning gladys knight, luther vandros and minnie ripperton throughout the whole tune. was it those three that he sampled or something. its kinda confusing.

and is the sample from a tune called ready for the world?

its a sick tune, and i just wanted to see if the original was just as sick.

safe

I don't know for sure but I heard someone say it was a old Luther Vandross song.

Its not a sample, its an interpolation. Most of it is replayed to sound like "A House Is Not A Home", but if you listen to the original record, you will quickly see the difference.

just that the whole beat sounds like its a girl singing. u know where i can download the whole original tune, not just a clip??

It's the original song sped up, I have the twista cd that it's on and it clearly says contains a sample from a "House is not a home" written by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.

i dont hear a difference in the two. i sped up A House is Not a Home on my own & it sounded like Kanye stole the song and just added some drums and a guitar to the hook

Speaking of kanye and samples, the song right after slow jams, called overnight celebrity is a nice samples beat kanye did, ha sampled Lenny Williams, which is funny cuz last week i was listening and thinking about sampling the same song he did before i even heard this, i was apprently late. but the thinkg about lenny is, u know how r kelly is alway doing his like oh oh oh oh oh, well..guess who he got that from...

true. the kings of comedy movie blew his spot up bigtime.

THe sample is from the very end of the vandros' song.. very clever... unpatient looker might skip it.. :D

What's the name of the track cause I'm in a process of interpolation a Lenny track and I don't want to go any further if some one else use it.

true... i wish someone would steal one of my songs like that!:)(Luther is getting paid off this and he should...).

speaking of kanye, i like the bassline they did on "through the wire", its actually a completely new line. i dont have the album, i wonder who played bass on it? i like vh1 soul cause i was watching and they played the new rap and the old chaka kahn video back to back... its tight how hiphop brings these old songs back, those are two of the best ballads ever!

its called "cause i love you" its actually a pretty dope song

as far as slo jamz, he added strings which sound more like a synth line, prolly had a bass player layered the bass, and added the guitar in the hook, then just took the sample from the end of the song..lol..i just remade it for fun, it takes 10 minutes

as far as through the wire, some of that bassline is new, some is not, its the same in the chorus tho

the chorus is not exactly the same. thats what i was talking about. sorry, had to be a "b" and argue, ha, ha...

on the chorus, the bass player stays closer to minor, and the original it sounds more major. i like the kanye line better (dont get mad at me for saying that please. :D )

the verses are pretty close to the very end of the original.

Oh Cool, good lookin out...Im a big Lenny Williams fan, but I didn't want to touch that song cause I'd assume someone would take that one.

naw...i wouldnt get mad..lol...i remade that beat tho, and it really didnt compare the basslines, just the samples, cuz i used a lil different sample from the original, but i know the verse part was different also, but honestly, listening to kanye makes me dig harder, cuz he really just take old songs, raises the pitch and adds drums and sometimes other intruments, the thing is doing it before him! lol..cuz damn, i wanted to do that lenny williams song before i even heard the one he did for twista. lol

have u noticed how many artists he mentions on that track?

minnie ripperton
gladys knight
michael jackson
luther vandross

haha, do i faster baby do it faster.
damn girl i cant do it that fast, but i know sum1 who can... :P
