Korg Karma VS Triton Vs Trinity

What are the major differences in these 3 boards? I know the Triton is the upgrade to the Trinity but what major differences are there between the 3? What makes a Triton a better buy than a Trinity? What makes a Karma a better buy over a Triton or vice versa? I just bought a Trinity rack on ebay but I am curious if I made the right choice. I think I will love the Trinity anyway but I am curious.

not always. I have bought new gear that I hated and returned the same day. Like the Sp303 for example. I bought one of those in 04 and returned it the same day just didn't like it. But I have always wanted a Trinity or a Triton. A lot of my favorite r&b records have been made on one board or the other. As for your question right now I have a Korg M3R that I just got a week ago, A roland Alpha Juno 2, A roland Xp 30 and an Ensoniq EPS. The Trinity and a Proteus 2000 are 2 boards that I have been wanting to get my hands on for years but always put off until now.
 
Trinity doesnt sample and has much less polyhony than the triton. Karma is similar to the triton but no sample a crazy arpegiattor like deal called Karma. I used to own the trinity rack and the triton classic. The only thing I didnt like about the TR rack was the polphony.
 
FM Would you say the sound of the Trinity and the Triton were different enough to warrant having both? I never listened to both of them side by side.
 
The sound isnt different Enough to have both, get the triton for the polyphony if nothing else.
 
Thanks for the info. I already bought the Trinity on ebay before I made the thread. Just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing out on anything by taking the chance at the trinity. For the way I work I think the Trinity will be great for me. Appriciate all your help. And make another video for the blog soon I'm waiting to see one
 
Im about to start streaming on U stream, we already did a test run last night, look for Altruwest TV on U stream I will answering questions about gear and production on the streams as well.
 
Cool. When u do ur streams make sure to record them too. The one thing I hate about ustream is that I miss them due to other commitments. The great thing about youtube is u can watch it anytime.
 
I been lookin for a v3. I found an upload of a bunch of soundbanks and data for the trinity so once I get one, I'll have a ton of sounds for it.
 
thats what im saying i mean its all the same sounds basicly and newer technology makes it ezer to do **** like go threw menus, hooking things up, lasting longer etc etc

Im totally aware of the Triton being newer. I wanted a Trinity because 1 its cheaper and 2 its not as common as a Triton. I simply made this thread to see if there were any major differences I was over looking. Either way my Trinity should be here next week. Yay

Fool...you WANT a triton....you SETTLED for a trinity. It also isn't that uncommon....listen to too short
 
negative I want a Trinity. I went on ebay looking for a Trinity. This thread was simply an after thought.
 
cmon now x....be real...you have always wanted a triton...just save a tiny bit more and get it.
 
LoL young is drillin you. I wont comment on his rant tho, hopefully the TR rack will inspire you. The TR was my goto box in 2003, and I used to always use the hi hats and **** from the TR. Editing on the TR sucks compared to ..... everything. The tiny buttons are terrible and get stuck lol. Nice sounds though.
 
i have a triton, abd i played around with the korg m3 and realized there was not a big enough difference between the 2 to warrant getting the m3 also... however, if i decide to just splurge for the sake of i would buy one
 
Young does that all the time I'm payin him no mind. Hes been pushin me to get a Triton and up until lately I really wanted one. For the past couple months tho I've been looking a little more into the direction of the Trinity just to see something different. I thought I'd take the jump and get it. If I don't like it I can always resell and get a Triton if its that serious but I want to try the Trinity.
