has anyone ever heard of it?

I got a message from "Harve Pierre" at bad boy, and he said to submit my music to MajorContacts.com because he doesnt accept unsolicited music. so after checking out the website i see that there is a member fee... but its like 10 bucks a month. the site looks legit but i was just wondering if anyone on here has ever heard of it, or if anyone is a member.

EDIT: Nevermind I was thinking of a different site.

two words bull sh!t... dont fall for it.
always remember criminals are smart two !. you can submit tracks to anyone through your attourney and that would be the best way to cover yourself as well as the client covering themselves.

check out " The industry blues" on www.myspace.com/redboyprodmusic

thanks

It's a legit site, I got the same message from Tina Davis(def jam) when I messaged her. Its pretty much a cheaper version of PMP. Except you submit beats to certain A&R's instead of specific projects. I'm a member of both and I perfer PMP. Don't put all your eggs in one basket and count on site's like these to get you anywhere. There's a reason why they are poping up everywhere. The A&R's and site owners benefit the most in the end because its a great way to make money.

www.musicplacements.com
www.majorcontacts.com
www.taxi.com
www.rateyourdemo.com
www.beastarconsulting.com
www.pmpworldwide.com
.....ect

All the same. You're better off looking for a personal manager... or if you're ready and have at least a bit of visability they will find you.

I aint saying the site won't get you exposure because it will. Just dont rely on them.

Most of these sites are mere FRAUD...

first, anyone asking for money upfront to submit your music to someone they claim to know does not have you in their best interest

and second, you dont know if these people are legit and who they know, they are trying to make money, anybody can say " i know this person or that person", but the bottom line is you dont know because you dont actually see or talk to ANY of these people they claim to know.these companies are praying on young hungry artist and know they would do or pay just about anything to "get on" sh!ts pathetic, the music industry has taken a hard a$$ hit and not making money like that any more so they are depserate as sh!t right now.

i know from experience, its so much sh!t with the game right now its not even funny, i know a few producers, good friends of mine ( heavy hitmakers) who are going through sh!t with the majors they signed with a while back before this 360 sh!t came out like in 1994 or so, the majors tried everything they could to get out of their contracts and not pay the producers using their attourney's to sh!t on them and "bump" their deals over to that new 360 sh!t.

all i am saying is watch the scams.......................

Armusic1.com is another 1.

Yea conrad told me to go to majorcontacts to...

I got hit up by the management of a former rocafella artist saying they wud shop me around to each major label at 600 a label.they will set up a meeting 4 me. Seemed steep.but I'd pay it if I had the dough.

There's no way I would pay $600 for anything like that. I've submitted tracks to a lot of major label artists through a source that I had. And guess what, that source was FREE!!! When I found my attorney guess to do submissions for me,... he was free too!!!

If you meet the right connections and you have real talent that people believe in, people will work with you. More than anything, they'll likely take a back end or a percentage of what you get out of the deal. (assuming you make a deal through their connections.)

Yes times are hard in the industry too (hence the reason for all these "pay us first sites"), but I've never had to pay anybody (at least not upfront) to get a beat submitted or heard by any labels or artists.
I can see if people were saying... it will cost you $600 if you get a placement for your track. But in all honesty, you're paying somebody $600 to tell you they don't like your track! lol.

My advice to everybody, keep networking, and keep upping your game. Eventually you'll run into people who will help you get to where you want to go.
