looks like a phat mixer, but I can already pick out some personal downfalls. I don't have all the info on this piece, just what I can gather from the high-quality picture posted....

1) Is it just me, or do all of the faders look painfully short???
2) looks like they tried to copy the DJM style of effects application; assign channel, pick effect, apply rate/depth. But whats up with the "shifter" style lever??? don't think I'm too crazy about that; the DJM knobs would be much more effective.
3) The "RATE" knob, I take it, corresponds to the PARAMETER 1 (millisecond) knob on the DJM series. Is there no millisecond readout to know how the effect will be applied??? or do u just have to play it "by ear" (no pun intended).
4) It also looks like you have to manually input BPM with that TAP button. That would get old after a while.
5) It doesn't appear that you can cue the effects.

On the PLUS Side:

1) It looks like a solidly constructed mixer; kudos to Numark on this, as it is a departure from their usual modus operendi.
2) EQ kills. The DJMs lack these. Though the EQ's on the DJM are more than sufficient in my book, kills would still be nice.
3) Very easy cue system; not the most versatile, but would be very effective in a club environment.
4) Green lights. Thats PHAT.

Unknowns:
1) Its still a Numark. Though much of their gear has improved over the years, it's still gonna take a while to shed their longstanding reputation for mediocrity of construction.
2) Sound quality. What kind of OUTS will it have??? XLR??? 1/4"???
3) Price. If keeping with Numark traditions, it will likely be very reasonable.

Oh well...just thought I'd share some first-look opinions. I own a DJM-3000, but I'm still in the market for an effective 2-channel mixer (to use in party environments). Anyone else have anything to say on this????

i stand corrected. i just spied the cue lever. so you can cue the effects. good thing.

Niiiicee...

Wow, really looks like a cool mixer. I really like the feel of those knobs (assuming they are the same knobs as those oh the PDM-01).

i saw a new numark mixer at NAMM that had some multiband graphic display, kinda like what you'd see on a home stereo or something, really strange but kinda nifty

David, do you mean THIS?

:D

Has anyone tried the Numark DXM06 out yet? I am seriously thinking about purchasing it in the next few days and am wondering if it is good to battle with and/or dj parties.

Peace----Q

Hey what about the DXMPro. I saw it on an ad for the CDX and was like, "whoa...what mixer is that". From what Numark says...it has higher end componentry and longer lasting crossfader. The overall look is stunning. :)

I had the 03, and I have to say of all the mixers I've used (Pioneer, Vestax, Gemini, etc) it was one of the worst for cutting and what not. For the money, there's better out there IMO.

- I didn't like the crossfader, it just doesnt have a good cut and feel.

- Adjustable crossfader was on the 03 but it was a super small knob and it was a bit of a pain for something I find kinda important.

- Cueing was basic, just the straight forward deck to deck panning that all mixers have. No 1-2 split.

- Screen looked hella cool, but aside from that it's all basic features you can find on every other mixer in the price range.
