Right on...
Yes, the Automicz on the CMX is bull... I've been on a CMX for some time now (Trickmaster, do u remember my Tascam of old? Not back from the shop yet... unfortunatelly!) and if ever I put it for use five times is too much!
I must conefss though that I'm actually getting quite used to the "stealth", its fast and precise as my old CDJ 100S'. I just regret that it hasn't half the features of the TAscam, which by the way is also cheaper than the CMX too.
Answering the question of our new friend here, the CMX rates high w/ me for these features:
-Slot-in system is fast, fast, fast, and clean to load/unload of discs. Has to be the best attribute of Pio CMX and
CDJ 100S!
-Pioneer precision = easy and accurate operation.
-Reads ALL types cds w/out exception - I mean it!
-Is compact, light and beautiful. Sounds excelent too.
-Loops are easy and accurate to boot!
-+/- 6, 10 or 16% are great for setting pitch accuracy.
Drawbacks (IMO):
-EXPENSIVE!!!
-Automix is a nonsense gadget (for real djs)that adds to cost, of course.
-Too compact (read "cramped") for my taste w/ small pitch rules, buttons, etc. Denons suffer this design problems too, sometimes worse 'cause at least Pio came up w/ a nice solution to the jog dial issue (IMO the Tascam wins hands-down the layout contest!!!)
Hope it helps.
ALex TC in the mix! Best regards to all.
