4etski,

I was just having problems doing the one ear'd monitoring thang, and just figured that would help me, which it did.
I don't need a good stereo image - any proper listening I do will be in the living room on my main sound system.
I'll probably shift them about again if or when I get some new gear...

YAY! ECLER!!!

oh yeah, checkout http://www.recrudesce.co.uk/images/pix/setup_1.jpg thru to setup_11.jpg

some loooooow res pix from my webcam, gives you an idea of it all. Gonna get me a decent digicam soon i hope :] When I do, I will get some _decent_ pix for ya guys cos things have moved on a lot since the last picture I posted of just my decks and mixer :]

Neat setup Russ! To bad the sun's shining right at the monitor now so I can't really get a clear view, gonna check it out later.

it aint the sun, it is a combination of TFT backlights and a crap webcam plus a spotlight on the desk :]

should look better with the proper pictures :P

Sweet. :D

What is that cool-looking blue-glowing box in pic 10? What kind of case do you have, anyway? It seems like that box matches the case, but I have seen other cases like that out there...

punosion: the blue glowing thing is a JVC mini system, i use it as a bedroom CD player and a radio alarm. the case, i aint got a clue... it was a prebuilt computer system i bought from an audio shop, so I dont know who makes it... guess I should find out now :]

mattu: And no, i dont think i need any more screens :]

ok, try again, i made a mistake :|

*hunts down the other post with the URL's in*

:( :(

nice setup recrudesce !! but how do you get to control all 3 computers with only one keyboard and a mouse ?

2 comps?

are you using both mac and pc?

if so, why?

VERY NICE SETUP, by the way!

mikefatom: see that box between the iMac and the TFT, well that is a KVM which allows me to switch the keyboard and mouse between any of the computers there...

pokerman: yup, using both styles of computers, because I want to :] I dont want to stick exclusively to PC or Mac's, so I decided to use the iMac I had as well :]

but can you share your audio files between all three comps like a network kindda stuff or is it all separated ? if you can how do you do that ? that would be a great way to have a multiprocessing power for all your audio applications and project....

i got then networked thru standard 100mbps ethernet... i dont think you can MP them all up, even if you could, i would not do it... everything runs independantly :]

Next question pls...

It's definetly possible to run them as a cluster sort a, with the right software (audio). But the work you need to put in before you have it all running is far superiour to what you gain in one year :)

heh, makes sense... this lot hums nicely.

got the following turning up tomorrow
http://www.behringer.com/02_products/prodindex.cfm?id=DI4000&lang=eng

and need to get these
http://www.m-audio.com/products/m-audio/studiophileSP8B.php

and also need to get some PDU's (power distribution units) to run it all off and protect it from spikes (there are about 20 plugs under my desk at the mo, so will need about 3 PDU's), and a little rack unit now to store all the rack stuff in... ARGH! MORE MONEY!

Gettin there
