Strange. Never seen that before. I always restart my computer anytime I get wierd messages like that. Restarting is like a splash of cold water to your computer. Sorry I couldn't help much. Try google or youtube. Good luck man.

Not sure why this is happening to you if it is a newer version of PT but it seems this company is just not about making their customers happy while their competitors are. I refuse to touch this software and have not used it since 2005ish because it is so restrictive so my advice to you
1. Sell Pro Tools
2. Buy Reaper contact me for free tutorials and advice to get you up and running. REAPER | Audio Production Without Limits
3. Make better sounding mixes.
4. Be happier :))

It's pretty self explanatory ... you're probably on an LE Pro Tools rig with a limited track count and you've reached your maximum allowed tracks.

And to the guy who said Pro Tools is too restrictive... most LE systems give you 48 tracks.. when are you even coming close to that?! I track full rock bands and get to 30... 40 tops.

I've never ran out of tracks using LE. Never even considered a limit. Is it 48? I thought it was 32? Maybe has something to do with a choice of stereo tracks vs. mono as well? Either way, I've never ran out. You have tons of options with audioclip editing, auxs and sends to keep everything contained as well.

OP, what version of PT are you using? I get the idea it's some demo edition boxed with an interface as bloatware. If not, read up on routing and audio clip editing so you're not wasting tracks for simple tasks.

Might you have set up that many tracks, without anything in all of them? LIke, maybe your session is set up with the tracks ready to be recorded on or to have files dragged into them?
