Wassup everyone i know this going to sound crazy, but i need know what type of software i can use to make someone who cant sing sound like they have some harmony. I was told that i could get something called a Vocalizer, which would allow me to play with someones vocals.I was also told thats what the N.E.R.D. uses when they record Phirell's voice for their songs, can anyone tell me if this is true or not.

i think it does somethin on the lines of that yes.. if u cant sing though.. one program wont fix that for u. this probably doesnt help u at all but i already wrote it out. ;0

Akai Decabuddy will do the harmonize thing if that's all that you want. But that alone will not make a person sound like they can sing. Antares Auto-tune might take care of the rest.

If you want to go the hardware route, you can get a yamaha MU 100, sw1000xg, or a few other products and get the Vocal harmonizer PLG board. I have one but it has been sitting for months since I don't have a host for it yet. There is also a hardware version of auto-tune.

There is no magic box (or software) that can give a person talent. If you Autotune a vocal of a person who just can't sing, then it'll require extreme usage and will sound like crap. Take that, and then put a harmonizer on it? Total junk. People like Pharrell sing well enough that it only requires minimal fixing, if any at all, considering what they're doing.
Peace

i understand that i just want to know what the names of those things that they use to help fix vocals, now that i do, my next question is were can i find these autotune, and harmonizer's
are there any software i can use to get these.

Never used it but there is Antares Auto tune which is softare based, which could help you out.

I had a Mission Impossible situation earlier this year. I was mixing our high school's record (we have a huge Protools studio and everything, so not "just" a school record), and there were a couple of really crappy singers. Like, I had 20 takes of something, tried everything to help them sing properly, but still sounded like crap.

But I got this one magic tool: Celemony Melodyne. It let's you edit audio like midi data: you have the (vocal) melody in a grid where you can edit each note's pitch individually, and it can also correct the melody automatically, altough you need to do some manual editing, too. After processing the vocals with Melodyne, I used Autotune to smoothen it up. The end result sounds like it's being processed, but it's a lot smoother than Cher-like autotuneing.

Maybe you should check out this program. But it's still nowhere comparable to people who can sing. I hope I'd never have to use it again... :)

antares auto tune is also great for sortin out those out of tune vocals
also steinbergs pitch right

I needed to know if there was a speacial program that could be used to fix someones voice only because i was watching a tv program showing pherell williams singing live, only he was horrible almosy all his live prefromances are garbage, so i was wondering what they could be using to fix his voice int he studio?

Reverb can hide some of the bad vocals. Doubling a vocal can help thicken and make it sound a little better, and some chorusing/delay.

Sounds like the guy you are talking about needs to really hear himself to hit the notes. Auto-tune can be used live, unless he is just absolutely always out of tune. Of course if he is touring a lot his voice just may be shot and in need of some rest.

I think Antares offers a full version free trial if you want to check it out.

auto tune is what you need buddy.I can hear when it is being used but the average cd consumer can't tell.
