Response 2 FOC - Video Inside!!

i just wanna make sure dudes got their priorities right, and dont blackball mev for being a "whistle blower"

I take back what I said about not blaming FOC, cause hes young and might be getting the wrong advice....but turns out hes the one who contacted mev about buyin the beat....

WEAK!!!!
But what would make you think Focus and G-Malone have the power to get someone like Mev blackballed.

The dude that said B Cox jacked his beat. Yes, he could get blackballed. B Cox has a label behind him all the way.

Malone and more importantly Focus are not that big on the scene, and probably as of right now Universal don't give a **** as long as they get their distribution money for the most part.

A couple questions for MEV... This track is on the Glasses Beach Cruiser album, right? The album wont even be released for another couple months. With this track up in legal wranglings, it will most likely just be scrapped from the album all together. They might just give you the credit though and still release it.

IMO, you should have waited until the album blew up (hopefully)...waited until all sales has slowed down, and then sued the label. You would have come up like that. This same thing happened with Quik, Truth Hurts, and Dre countless times. The original composers waited until the albums were multiplatinum, then they sued.

The video has already premiered I believe. Now would be the time to get on it and say he is the real producer because it would be seen as legitimate. If you were a producer and you heard your beat on the video for what should be your first placement wouldn't you be fuming and wanting your money right away?

hahahha i hope they blur out FOC's face in the video

btw look for my new album

"Soundclicks Greatest Hits" Produced entirely by FOC...DUDE IS CRAZY TALENTED!!!

i wonder if he has the files tracked out for that sh1t too..

Damn, FOC been gettin' people for real.

Dude is presenting stuff at his work with a straight face (well, not so straight).

I guess he figured he had the jackin' game down. Mev blew his ship out of the water, lol.

Good ish Mev. I hope you get everything you're due. Ol boy will get his though.... he probably got his last placement after this ish.

Blu Division

Distance yourselves before you go down with him

some1 print screen and rip the track off his myspace

oh we're gna get him real good

bwahahahaha

I won't comment on whether the claim of infringement is true or not but if it is and you have your copyright paperwork in order and your legal team properly on deck you can file for a cease n desist on not just the single but the whole album (assuming its even commercially released considering the current music market). This basically puts a freeze on ANY payments to all songwriters (producers are considered writers for the newbies reading this) on the album project until the situation is legally resolved. This can often take years before its resolved and yes you may well face some blackballing from certain sectors of the industry especially if UNIVERSAL is really expecting the project to blow so understand what you're getting into before you take it there. On the other hand if you don't take it there you may never get your proper credit, performance royalties, mechanicals, etc unless dude totally backs down, admits guilt and the label/publishing company is willing to make the necessary adjustments. Interesting but sadly far too common a scenario in the shark tank called the music industry

Foc shows soloed out instruments at 7:50 of the video from mevs "version" of the beat. How did he get those? SMH
This guy is 1 of americas dumbest criminals.

http://tinyurl.com/focthebeatjacker

He gone be in the video SMH
I hope glasses smash on this nigga next time he see him

Dude done phucked Glasses over...

I'm pretty sure Glasses doesn't care who really produced the song. He spit on it because he liked it, he didn't know some ho ish was attached to it. He'll probably stop messin' with dude altogether if it's going to hurt his career.

See what can be done outside of court... I don't know why ol boy would want to go to court to try to prove he made the beat if he can't even prove it here...

I gotta speak on Blu Division behalf...no one knew that FOC "stole" this beat. He gave the session to Glasses and he assumed he made the track. It's kinda hard to have separated wav files for beat jacking. But dont think this is a practice that goes down over at Blu Division at all. We try to keep things as professional as possible. Im sure Mev will get his proper credit and everything he is owed, the album is due out in October so there seems to be enough time to handle it...

If things can be resolved without going to court and before the album hit retail that would be much better and less mess n stress for everybody. The whole 'fake it until you make it' approach is dead. For the producer involved, if you didnt do the track go earn your stripes.

Good response from the label side

im not gonna write no long speech Mev if you feel like FOC stole ur beat pm me ur info & i'll get you on 3 way with Glasses and we will get to the bottom of it like that, so all you other matha****as speaking on Blu Division yall better fall back, keep our name out ur comments, i dont care who made the damn beat to keep it real, im not a producer, im a artist, so Mev if you wanna speak to Glasses i can make that happen for you, just hit me and we will do that if not...just go to court and do what you gotta do, but to keep it real i dont think your gonna win in court, FOC & Glasses will go to court together & Glasses lawyer is a beast, the best thing you can do is talk to glasses and get it taken care of, but hey its on you brotha do what you gotta do!
